Had full face makeup done on short notice, Hayley (sp) unfortunately does not know how to apply makeup to an aging face which is what I specifically requested someone good at elderly ladies face(I'm 59) I also mentioned that I was in a hurry told them my complexion type ,color and problem areas,m which were ( that I have pink tones to my skin) she missed the middle of my chin, did not blend edge of face, which I did not realize until after I had already gone to my event out of town, I realized it at end of event when entered restroom and glanced in the mirror, here I saw, a definite line, she tried shading but applied it in wrong place , I give her points for thinking of ir, she did not know enough to use a brightener or highlighter around eyes and just under brow, I had to tell her about it, took her 60 minutes at $45. A professional should be able to take 15 minutes choosing makeup and 10 to 15 to apply,( my personal makeup was packed up at a different location in case you are wondering why I would pay that much to have someone apply facial makeup. I dont like to give bad reviews, I feel this is not her fault, Ulta beauty salon and stores should be training their help oroperly. Plus she pumped the applicators in and out of the mascara container and the lip fel/gloss which introduces air and contaminants into an otherwise sterile environment, I thought every girl knew that you insert applicator and twist, NEVER PUMP, as it dries out product causing it to clump, and contaminates it as mentioned, letting air and germs in, on the brighter side she was polite, cute, young but just has no clue how to apply makeup to anyone over 25/.I.M.O. she can be trained., Ulta Beauty just needs to do this, Hailey (sp) is good with the customers, just needs training on technique and swiftness. She could be trained and a valuable employee, hey , sonetimes ya dont know what ya don't know. She I'm sure did not request to service me, whomever booked the appointment dropped the ball in choosing the clerk, perhaps they should have chosen a trained technician? I did not leave a tip, I have never done that! I usually tip 20 to 25 percent, also I had given the girl who answered the phone all my updated information requesting her to update it in system before I arrive because I did not want to waste time giving it in person, I gave my new phone #, new last name, new address both physical and email while on phone and, when I went to pay bill, it was not updated in computer, simply ridiculous disappointing...

The employees were plugging their nose & saying how disgusting it was and that they WILL NOT clean it up over their headset to one another. So my sister decided to clean it up because I had to go to my car and clean up my son. I understand that puke is disgusting but accidents do happen and as employees they should not treat their customers like how they treated my sisters and I over this incident. So with that being said I went to go talk to the manager face to face. She told me that her employees did not say any of those things and that they were just communicating to get the mess cleaned up. But F that, they were all staring at us doing nothing! If they cared so much they would've came and brought us something to help clean up the mess. But we had to tell them to give us something to clean up the mess to get things moving. Anyways I apologized that my son puked on their floor and explained to her that I was upset that her employees would treat customers like that and she was just so rude and mean to me. As I was stating how I felt about how her employees treated my sisters and I, she said "what do you want me to do?! Talk to my employees?!" with an attitude. She also stated that she doesn't have kids so she wouldn't know! So as we kept taking she was like "can someone please come help me, she's blowing my head off" over her headset. Like who the F saids that out loud as a professional. The conversation went no where and I left upset and they didn't even care. NOT TO MENTION: the manager LIED to my face that she DID NOT say "I'm getting my head blowed off" to her employees on the headset. When I even HEARD her loud and clear say it.
The managers name is...
Read moreWent here for just a trim and some layers. Left with a hack job… my stylist was super sweet so I feel bad writing this review, however my hair was completely ruined after my visit. My hair was relatively long and very thick and I took pride in how thick it was so when Haley asked if I was thinking about thinning it, I told her not at all and that I just wanted layers and a trim. Something bouncy that I can easily manage at home. However, I guess she decided to ignore my wishes and proceeds to chop off more than 6 inches of my hair and completely thin out only the bottom half of my hair, leaving the top half looking very heavy and bulky (almost mullet-like). At first I thought I just didn’t like the way she styled it so I tried many different styles at home but nothing worked. I ended up going to my regular stylist to get it fixed and she showed me just how horrible my haircut was and how uneven it was as well. She ended up having to cut more length just to even it out and thin out MORE of my hair just to blend in the rest. She told me it’s going to take months just to get my hair back to maintenance level in order for it to look decent again. For reference, my hair was past the middle of my back before my Ulta appointment and when I left it was just below my shoulders. My regular stylist had to take off more length when she tried to even it out and it is now sitting at my shoulders and I may have to cut even more off just to even it out the rest of the way. I went into Ulta looking for just a freshen up and ended up having to start completely over, I would not recommend...
