Let me start this out with a disclaimer. I am not against chain pet stores. All of my bettas and other fish have been from chain pet stores. I frequent them for supplies and am practically on a first name basis with a local chain pet store. However, this particular location has fish in some of the most heinous conditions in Green Bay. I have needed to go here for their snail selection and Top Fin products, and each time I walk past the betta display, they are filled with sickly, lethargic, and even dead bettas.

I was there two weeks ago for pleco food and saw a male crowntail that was sickly thin and pale. I did not take him but instead chose a female in the same condition. I asked if they honored the PetSmart adoption program and they said no, but they could give me a discount because multiple fish had developed fin rot. This was because their doors had broke and were letting cold air right onto the betta display. Instead of moving the fish, they allowed them to suffer and develop illness. I was told to wait for a manger to let me know the discount amount. After 15 minutes, no one came so I went to check out and asked. I was told that this pale, thin, white betta (that was supposed to be red and black since she was a koi betta) had fins in good shape, so I’d have to pay full price. I put her back.

A few days ago, I had gone back for a Top Fin light. I saw the same male crowntail I had seen two weeks before and was amazed he was still alive. Today, after finding a place that would take him if I could nurse him back to health, I went to go buy him. He was not there (probably dead, but hopefully bought by a kind soul). So instead, I picked a fish that was on death’s door and had fin rot. I went to the counter and asked about the fin rot discount. I was told they cannot sell fish with fin rot. A manager came to get the fish from me and told me they have to treat it themselves. I informed her there were a lot with fin rot. She acted as if I didn’t say anything.

I picked out a different fish, also with fin rot and swim bladder, but just didn’t say anything. I have pasted photos of the disgusting cup he was living in and a photo of the ammonia readings in his cup. About 1 ppm.

The cups there are filled with slime, green algae, fish waste, and uneaten food. Fish with noticeably bad health are ignored and left to suffer and die. The dead ones are ignored as well as I’ve seen some that are well into decomposition.

I know these are ‘just fish’ but PetSmart’s job is to take care of fish. That is obviously not being done. If you cannot care for them, do not sell them or allow discounts for sick fish. You make no money off of them if they are dead and with the ‘care’ or lack thereof they’re provided, death is almost inevitable for...

People were very nice but when I looked to adopt a dog they told me they could hold the animal up to 4 days. I had been getting paid that week so I agreed to pick him up and finalize everything on Friday after work. The following day I went back to see my soon to be puppy and someone else had adopted him and was about to leave with him. Very frustrated I called and complained about the situation. They were kind enough to return the dog back and allow me to continue with the adoption process. All of this occurred because someone simply failed to leave a note on his paperwork. After I had paid for my new family member, several days later I noticed 2 charges for the amount of my new adopted pet on my account, putting my checking account in a negative balance. Frustrated I called Pet Smart only to find out that they did in fact charge me and it was up to the Appleton Humane Society (where the animals are originally located) to refund. After several back and forth dealings with both them and my bank, I finally got my refund, needless to say, the whole experience left a pretty bad taste...

We were having major problems finding any kind of canned Puppy food here in Iron Mountain Mi. At not only the one pet store but all stores or: Walmart, Home Depot and Tractor Supply. If I got lucky I would buy out the few cans they had in stock which with five puppies didn't last but two to three days max. So we decided to drive to Green Bay and see what the pet stores down there had in stock. Golly no problems with not only the brand we feed the pups but plenty of it in stock. We bought two flats so we knew it would last until it was time for our pups to be placed with their new parents plus give them a can or two to keep pups on the same diet. They always tell us to shop at home. Well it's impossible when what we are shopping for doesn't exist or it's never in stock. I will go back to Green Bays PetSmart store when I need more pet food and supplies in the future. The employees were great in assisting us find everything we were looking for. They were knowledgable and very helpful to us. We send out a big THANK YOU to The PetSmart in...

Great app that offers: grooming appointments, purchase pick up, rewards on purchases and games that add up for treat rewards Great training staff: Heather, very kind, passionate and highly motivated to make training a pleasant experience for your dog and yourself -keeps you involved every step with your choice of training words and different reward systems -is honest and knowledgeable about dog safety, well being and health (noticed my pittie getting a little too thin, suggested higher protein food of the brand I feed her) -offers recommendations for boarding/doggy day care -cute graduation caps for "graduation" between levels (see pic attached) --Heather is great, deserves a raise
