I have always liked Red Robin but today was my very last visit. My family and I went for lunch for my birthday (there were just 6 of us). I can honestly say we had the WORST waitress/server in the place. Her name is Liz and not only did she tell me I couldn’t have my birthday burger—which didn’t bother me I spose but when she got my mother’s order wrong and gave her the bbq instead of banzai burger, blamed my mother and was snappy. “i heard bbq so thats what you got. your pronunciation made me hear bbq not banzai but i will get u the banzai burger.” We all, including my 15 yr old daughter looked at this woman like she was insane. She was very short with everyone and pushy and the icing on the cake was when my hubby asked of they did anything special for birthdays. She basically said “i only sing for the kids. (we watched 2 girls sing for an older woman a few minutes before) and my mom said “well shes my kid.” Liz ignored her and asked “You do get a sundae do u want one?” i said no and left it at that. The manager delivered my mother’s meal and mom shared her disappointment in Liz and he did nothing except say “ i will have a talk with her.” no apology from him or Liz, no discount for poor service or anything. He offered to get me my sundae again but with Liz returning to be the one to ask very pushy and put off like we were basically there taking up her time. I was not about to stay any longer. Her “do you want more fries? You? How bout you? and only asking if we wanted drink refills when she overheard me mention my parents got them without asking but no one else was asked. She thought she could plop down a small water cup with half melted ice cream sundae in front of me to make up for her rudeness all meal and still snag a tip bit we all had our minds made up. She clearly is not meant for customer service and yes it was busy but no other server made customers feel like they were a nuisance like Liz made us feel. Mom usually leaves a generous tip and today she made sure the 0 was read loud and clear on the receipt and i voiced my distaste in service at Red Robin and my refusal to ever return again. What kind of a friggen server doesnt even ACKNOWLEDGE a birthday until its basically to save their own butt? Liz thank for a pathetic excuse for a birthday lunch. I may be 45 but it was still a celebration of my life. Excuse me for trying to enjoy it. You made me feel like I was too old or just not worth your time or effort. I once loved RR but you...
Read moreSunday, July 24th was my daughter's 6th birthday. A few weeks prior, she had been at an Applebee's and saw the waiters singing Happy Birthday to someone and so she said she really wanted that for her birthday. So after a long day of birthday parties, family and friends coming to our house and kids running around, we decided that Red Robin would be a fun place for her to have her birthday dinner. We took our family and my folks to the Green Bay RR and sat down. Right away something seemed off as it took a longer-than-usual amount of time for the waiter to come by initially even though the restaurant wasn't overly busy. He came and took our drink orders and then took awhile to come back. Finally we placed our dinner order and my Mother informed him that it was my daughter's birthday. Soon after, he came back with an ice cream sundae, before we had received our dinner, and proceeded to lead the table in a traditional song of Happy Birthday. I was a bit confused by this since we hadn't eaten yet and I knew my daughter wouldn't be much interested in her dinner once it came. I also was surprised we didn't get the typical RR group of waiters singing their fun Happy, Happy Birthday song. After that, our food came and it seemed like it had been sitting out too long. The fries were a little cold and the burgers were soggy. Some of the small order changes we made hadn't been done. By this time we were starting to get irritated but I didn't want to draw things out and make a scene for my daughter or my folks. Of course the table right behind us had a group of waiters come out and do their fun Happy, Happy Birthday song which continued to make us feel like we weren't getting the best service.
All in all, the waiter seemed inexperienced and disinterested. I can understand being new, but we all had a very poor experience to the point that I thought the waiter was in the wrong job. The manager never stopped by our table. Finally I'll say this, the whole reason we went to RR was because my daughter wanted the restaurant "Birthday Experience". We chose RR because we felt it was the best place to do that...and what we got felt like we didn't matter. I felt like my time and money was wasted that night and I've shared it with many people. At this point, I have no interest in...

Pros:
Family-friendly environment. Kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Certain drinks and sides had free refills (However, we didn't bother often since we had to ask our server each time, although we overheard her asking other tables if they wanted refills).
Cons:
Out of Traditional Wings -- I had trouble deciding what to order as the only thing I wanted were the traditional wings.
Salty Garlic Fries with dried out parmesan-- Why mess up perfectly fine steak fries?
Overpriced Kids' menu-- Standard burgers and steak fries. Meals weren't one flat price but individually priced with undisclosed additional prices for sundaes and floats (Our regular go-to location beats this price hands down with a flat $5+ tax for an entire kids' meal).
Overpriced Menu Overall-- Almost $12 for a small double patty, slider-size burger and a side of steak fries!
Kids' Burger -- Real foodie kid will inhale just about anything didn't like the taste of his burger. That's a first coming from him.
Fake Boneless Wings-- The server recommended the boneless. I asked if they were actual wings without bones. She confidently said "yes" so I ordered some. Boneless wings = Soggy, saucy chicken tender chunks in the shape of wings!!!!
Broccoli Side-- Unappealing and unappetizing. The cut crowns were brown and dirty-looking. The spouse said it seemed like it was boiled in sewage water. No refills needed here!
Hidden Charges! Beware the tablets for you to pay at your table! Generic games were loaded on the tablet so my kids tried the games out. Server never informed us beforehand of an "entertainment fee" of $1.99. Had she did, we would've been fine without it. We assume the charge was because my kids played some of the games.
Staff-- they had a system of food runners dropping off food/drinks but they were all such in a hurry. Server was cordial but not personable and only offered information when asked. Even with additional help of food runners, our server took off without a thank you or a farewell after quickly explaining how to pay at the table. We tipped her 20% despite it all, but--
We highly doubt we'll be...
