Itās my birthday and we planned out the experience with our bday dessert happening here. We showed up 5 mins before closing; obvi scooping ice cream for 3 people shouldnāt take THAT long and - also in what food/tourism world do places lock their doors before the actual closing time??!! Guy on the counter with his shoes turning off the closing sign 5 mins before closing with the doors locked, obvi even earlier than that. . Another group of three said they were in there and the store urged them out even though they were not done with their ice cream decisions. Like over 10 mins before close. Not cool. Super unprofessional. Super disappointed. And as someone who has a lifetime of serving and bar tending never has this been like an āokā. If these were my employees they would DEF be let go and someone who actually wants to work would replace them.
Since we never got into the store to see prices imagine 6 people x the average price of a waffle cone maybe half double scoops. Those two employees just cost this shop the amount they both combined are probably paid for that last...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe shop is in a great location and is pleasing on the eyes both inside and out. There are two main reasons I rate this place a 2. First, the homemade sweets just weren't good. We tried the sea foam, haystacks and pasticcio fudge. We didn't finish the small amount we bought. The main reason we will never return is the fact that merchandise was not labeled. You have no idea how much an item costs unless you go up to the front and have them scan it for you. This leads me to believe they just want you to fill your baskets with treats and have no idea what you're spending until it's all rung up and you have an outrageous total. Not to mention it was all grossly overpriced even for the busy tourist area. A large chocolate coin was $6!!! My advise is go through and label all items and step up your sweets recipes and you will be a shop we would recommend to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was visiting this beautiful town of Astoria and found myself walking the market. I ended up in front of this candy store and went in to escape the heat and browse around. I didnāt intend to buy anything but the young girl at the fudge counter named Scarlett was so friendly and gave me some samples. Before I knew it I was buying fudge by the pound! I tried the lemon cheesecake fudge and it blew my mind! They also had all kinds of candy, ice cream and even chocolate covered twinkies!! TRY IT!! The girl talked to me about Astoria and gave me some sightseeing tips and I left full of fudge and really happy I found this sweet spot to end my trip. If you are in town this is a MUST SEE place. I...
