Wonderful place to shop small and local. In a town with so few options, ALPS is one of the few places where you can get in and get out quickly and see smiling faces and shop inexpensively. I have never had a negative experience at this store (I have lived in Atchison for over 37 years, for reference). As for the reviews speaking about selection, those people clearly do not know that Michelle (the store manager) and Doug (the store owner) will gladly order whatever item the customer needs (within reason) and have it for you. I am not related to anyone who works at this store, and I have not been compensated for this review; I am simply writing the truth from my decades of personal experience. Many a young person has bought their first car or prom dress from working here (myself included around 20 years ago 😂😭). Rewards card is useful for milk now that it’s nearly $5/gallon and I have three small...

I like the fact that they have cashier's and NO self checkouts. Sometimes the prices are a little higher than what you would pay at Walmart. But considering the personal touch you get here, I would rather pay a...
Read moreIt's a small, neighborhood store, so it only carries smaller selections of store brand and national brand items. Very limited organic foods selections. The last couple of visits, the bananas were very green. They offer a rewards card, but I don't really save much because the rewards points are primarily for items I don't use. It's a nice store to stop at on the way...
