Kohl's — Local services in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

For a store of this kind Kohl's is okay. The selection of housewares is what you would expect - mostly name brands - and pricing is acceptable. I have rarely found exceptional deals, but neither do I buy many of the items on offer.

Pricing on sheets and other linens is fairly good. Name brands are okay, but the selection can be mediocre. It all depends on what you want. I'm a practical person and don't need matching duvets, shams and bed skirts. Besides, I don't want a bed that's better dressed than I am. 😉

Clothes are hit or miss at this Kohl's. If you fit the ideal body shapes you will likely be satisfied by the selection. If you are tall or large, have size 9+ feet or ample padding, you are likely to be disappointed. Be prepared to find few items. And for those to be in colors and patterns that are less appealing than the "normal" sizes.

Be sure to try your selections on. Sizing can be wonky depending on where the items are sourced. The larger sizes are not always blocked correctly. (I have left the store empty handed the last three or four times because of this. Nothing fit well.)

Kohl's usually has a decent selection of accessories. Some nice scarves and handbags. Be warned that this section can get messy. Also, be sure to check scarves and such for runs and holes before buying. Yes, I learned from experience.

The jewelry selection is a little bizarre sometimes. The carded goods are okay, depending on taste. Items in the cases always seem to be either under or over priced. If you're interested in high quality jewelry, I recommend you to a dedicated...

Took a gift return back. Took my gift to customer service for replacement or credit to buy something else. Customer service rep gave me a store credit paper card and $2 something in kohls cash. I find another pr of shoes take them to register only to find out customer service rep hadn't added an amount on card, then cashier asks for reciept from gift merchandise. I said I gave that and sandals to customer service. Luckily the girl I had asked earlier for directions to customer service was still in same spot so I told cashier who it was she called her over and from there she remembered the shoes and said wait I'll go back to customer service to get the reciept so we know exchange amount. Well 35 minutes later, Cashier is apologizing and I'm instructed to return to customer service where I'm informed the rep I had given reciept to and shoes had thrown reciept away. So I have my new merchandise and I'm told their going to guess on price and just add it to new card and I could pay back there. 45 minutes after my cashier experience, I am told would you like us to ring you up back here. I said yes. I was told the amount given and that covered my items.Which that was great.But No thank you for waiting, no I'm sorry for confusion or throwing out reciept. I pd with card and was sent off. Athens, ga customer service needs better customer service and I should have been offered an apology and maybe a percentage off since it took almost 1 hr to straighten out the problem and waiting on customer service to correct their problem...

If I could give zero stars I would. Yesterday I was racially profiled and followed through the store as I shopped. None of the white customers near me were followed nor asked for help as many times as I was. I proceeded to the check out and informed to register employee that I was being followed by employees of the store. I informed the store manager and she had an undertone racist response. As I purchased my items and went outside the door, there were 5 white oconee police officers looking like a gang and one of them asked to speak with me. They asked if I came by myself, for ID etc. now mind you I just spent 500.00 of my money in the store and was holding this long receipt. I couldn’t believe these people accused me of stealing before I could even purchase my items in my shopping cart. I guess I didn’t shop fast enough for them. How white officers treat black women in this men is dangerous. The way the officers were standing outside of the store had me shaken up. One wrong move or thought could have cost me my freedom or life for nothing. I will never shop at another kohls. It’s crazy how none of the white customers who spent as much time I did shopping were followed or harassed. Please if you are black do not shop at this location...
