Last time we went and everything was fine, good even. I was surprised because I hadn't been to an IHOP in 3 years and hadn't been to this IHOP in over a decade. I have always had nothing but horrible experiences and would rather eat at Waffle House Cracker Barrel or Denny's for breakfast, but there's no Denny's here and we wanted pumpkin pancakes. We decided to give it another shot because of how good everything was last week. Unfortunately it seems those experiences are few and far between and today I was reminded why IHOP lost my business years ago and won't get it again. We walk in in the morning. It's Saturday so I understand it's going to be a little busier than usual (I never see cars here) but the parking lot wasn't full and there were only a couple of families waiting. I noticed literally none of the tables in the middle were occupied, about 7 or 8 tables. The hostess greeted us coldly and I told her we had 2 people. She said it'd be 15-20 minutes and I told her I'd be fine with eating at one of the open tables in the middle, thinking maybe the families waiting had requested a booth. She said I had to wait for the people ahead of me to be seated, which I was fine with but a little confused why there were so many open tables yet there was a wait. I said "hmm looks like there are a lot of open tables so I was confused" and she SNAPPED at me and said in an aggressive hostile tone "because I haven't seated them yet!" I was taken aback and told her was no need to get an attitude and I was fine with taking our business elsewhere if they didn't want it to which she said sarcastically have a nice day. We left and won't be back. Been a long time since I was disrespected like that in a food establishment and I'm reminded why I don't go to IHOP anymore. The food is fine but as long as you have such disrespectful rude employees it doesn't matter. Also seems like someone wasn't doing their job if there were 7 open tables and it was a 20 minute wait for 3 parties of people. We went to cracker barrel and it was a 70 minute wait so we ended up at Waffle House in watkinsville where we should have just went in the first place because it was a fantastic experience. You won't ever catch me in...
Read moreI’m notice that there is not a lot of customers inside when walking inside. I took about 15 minutes to get seated and another 15 minutes before the waiter took our order. There only 9 customers inside the dining area so I would expect to be seated and service a lot sooner. It took about 45 minutes for our food (group of 3). The waiter has forgot the coffee I ordered and just brought me a water. I ordered the endless pancake meal but I doubt I will see them since it takes soon long to be serviced and the food to come out. I literally played tic tac toe all over a kids menu. Food was good but for the service to be this slow when you only have 9 customers is unacceptable. I like going to IHOP but this will deter me from coming to this location when there are great local restaurants available. Date of Visit: 2/4/21 2:00PM
I revisited this IHOP on 11/14/21 approximately 12:20 PM. I took us about about 30 minutes for us to be seated. There was another group of four that was waiting for over hour and a half but was not seated before my group. We had a kid and was not given a kids menu. We were not given utensils until 5 minutes after we received our food. Our food took about 30 minutes to arrive. I approached a employee to ask if we can get utensils. After five minutes in the back. She said they do not have utensils available. When given utensils, they arrived in a glass still wet.
Our order had discrepancies upon arrival. Some of the food was burnt to include the pancakes. The waiter did not write down the order which makes it difficult to say if it was a waiter or kitchen issue. I suggest ever waiter to write orders down instead of trying to memorize it.
I loved visiting IHOP for the value I am getting with the price. The issues with the food, wait times, and employees are not worth it though. There are plenty of places to eat around Athens that might be a little more expensive but worth the cost. I will wait for another 6 months before trying to come back to this IHOP in hopes of...
Read moreWe have been coming to IHOP at this location for years. For the past 4-5 months, 90% of our visits at least three times a month have been very stressful experiences from having to wait long periods of time EVERY TIME (45 minutes up to 1 and 1/2 hours) to be seated, then another 30- plus minutes to get our food. Sometimes the food is okay, and others times it's cold when served, tough, and just plain lousy food. On occasions when we asked to speak to the manager we were told, he was busy, he was out on an errand; there's always an excuse for not being able to talk to a manager about issues with particular visits. We have visited this location our last time on Saturday, 5/29/2021, when we were told there was a 31 minute wait. At 1:13 pm, we got the phone message they would text us when our table was ready. We noticed other people who arrived after us were being taken, so at 2:00 pm, we checked on our waiting time again, and was told we were not on the waiting list, even after showing the girl our text message 45 minutes earlier from them. She knew absolutely nothing about what was going on. She said she would go find out what to do!! Their were two people waiting to be seated, and these were people who came after us. She had to go check on what to do? Really! We were famished after waiting for 45 minutes. We left at 2:01 pm, went down the street to Waffle House, was seated immediately and order taken at 2:13 pm, and eating our piping hot food at 2:22 pm! IHOP needs to take lessons from Waffle House. Your business, service, and employees are only as good as...
