Ace Hardware Super 1 Foods — Local services in Athol

We stopped by to look at their selection of smokers, as the Super 1 is also affiliated with and attached to the Ace Hardware. They carry a few brands, the Trager of course, BUT they also carry "Smokin Brothers", which seems every bit as good as the Trager and better. Higher quality construction with welded part's and heavier guage steel, upgraded electronics and components, with an insulated fire box for better efficiency. To top it off, the young man that assisted us (Dan Wright) was immensely helpful and knowledgeable about the products and the processes of smoking,. With years of experience, he really knows what he's talking about. I will mention that if you know about Smokin Brothers, you'll probably want one. Be aware that this is the only dealer in the area but worth the drive. I would strongly recommend stopping in and asking about their smokers, something to smoke, or anything else you need. We hit the Deli on the way out and picked up some delicious prepared hot food with a soft serve ice cream to go. We'll definitely stop...

For the most part, we are thrilled Super 1 Foods is in Athol, we'd been waiting for 16.5 years for it to arrive. What I didn't like/appreciate is when the produce has been in the store too long and it goes on sale at a great price, case in point, sweet onions, I bought 5 or 6, and 2 days later, they all start to go bad, starting to soften and rot at the end, opposite of the root end. We had to think fast for a menu for the week to use up the onions we had left, we ended up throwing out at least 1. They are very expensive at regular price, a price we can't afford, so it's rare that we get them. We'll I guess it will be even more rare, I will never buy them...

My boyfriend and i stopped in for lunch while hes working up here. The staff is very friendly and there wasnt one employee that wasn't smiling which is always a plus. I felt like the deli food was a little spendy, and needed more options for to go sauces. If we didnt have only a few minutes or to eat in the car it wouldnt have been an issue. But all in allhad a great experience. I will definitely be returning...
