And that’s where the good ends. I recently moved into the state and needed a salon. I decided after looking at their work on Instagram that this was my place. Especially given their prices were at a premium so I expected premium work. I asked for a brown balayage look and what ensued was anything but. The entire process lasted about 4-5 hours and Josie kept walking away, joking and engaging with other patrons. At first I didn’t mind bc what should it matter if the end result is great. She also started in by foiling around my face and the lower portion of the back of my head. The developer stayed in for a while and by the time she rinsed I saw my hair breaking off. Again, just maybe it was normal. Well she proceeds to tell me that instead of a trim she needs to take more off. She trimmed roughly 2-3 inches. She styled it great wavy, I paid and left. It wasn’t until I got home and looked at my hair under natural light that I noticed the lack of blending, brassy areas and areas with platinum green blonde. I straightened it and realized only the lower half of the back of my hair was blonde. And darker than the sides. I could cry. I was tempted to ask for a refund or to have them correct it but it was such a terrible job that I didn’t want to risk the loss of more hair. I found another salon that will be my go-to and they fixed and color corrected the mess. They also re trimmed my hair because it was choppy. This is the best hair salon to go to in Atlanta if you love good lived natural yet fresh color. I have lived in Atlanta for 7 years (tried prob 10 salons) and stepped into Labara over a year and half ago and have never looked back. Jordie is a hair guru. I have the best lived in blonde color and she always listens and I walk out of the salon so happy and satisfied. I have had only the greatest experience here. Pending on the season I can go every couple months or every 7/8 months and my hair still looks good because she understands color placement and blending so well for regrowth. My hair is so healthy from when I first walked in. It had some serious damage. At every other salon in major cities my hair would always have that regrowth line, lots of damage & I would be in the chair constantly and so frustrated with my results. I never see that here. Amanda has never let me down. In fact she nails my hair every time! I was weary picking a new stylist (as most are) and trusted the reviews LaBara had. I have gone in with a vision of what I want and often unable to perfectly articulate what I’m hoping for as a result, yet Amanda as proven to be skilled in understanding and hearing me and somehow perfecting my vision every time. She is fun to be around and her bubbly personality makes it a real treat getting my hair done when before it was just a thing I needed to do. Amanda even gave me a lesson on how to style my hair so that I can feel confident even while I’m not in her chair. She truly cares for her clients. She has won me over and can’t wait to see her again in a few months for color and another cut.
