Read moreNo No Nooooo! This place is horrible. We had been looking at this restaurant on instagram for a couple months. Finally went and it was so disappointing. As soon as we pulled up I noticed that it was dark and DEAD! And this was on a Friday night. This was the first red flag. We drove 40 minutes and were basically starving so we stayed even though something was telling me not to. We had to pay $20 to park. I could see if there was valet or if this was a separate parking area, but this is self parking that’s on the restaurant property. We were sat on the patio and it was so dark, barely any lights at all. Mind you it’s already dark outside so there’s that. I ordered the chicken and when it came out the waitress asked me how it was and if I needed anything else. I immediately asked if we could get some light. I couldn’t say if my food looked good or not because i literally couldn’t see it. I had to take my phone out and use the flash to look at my plate. I noticed there were little lamps on the tables and the waitress informed me that the batteries were out on every single one! How do you have a restaurant and no lights? How do have table lamps, but can’t use them because there are no batteries. I was both shocked and it pmo so bad. How do you expect one to eat when they can barely see their food. This is beyond lazy and it shows they could care less about customers. My food finally came out. The mashed potatoes were cold. The gravy was so cold I swear it’s like it come out of a refrigerator. My husbands asparagus was cold. And to top things off water isn’t free. I asked for a water with lemon and was brought a bottle of still water. This was so shady. Why not tell the customers that they only have bottled water. It’s not the money that’s an issue. I don’t have a problem paying for water. It’s the way they go about things. If I order two waters with lemon, say “we have bottled still water, is that alright!” This place seems just money hungry and honestly I’d be surprised if they are open another year. I see why there was no customers. I won’t ever come again and you...
Read moreI did not enjoy my experience at High Society.
My friend and I sat down and weren’t served for a good 20 minutes.
We put in the order for drinks and tapas and didn’t receive our drinks for another 15 minutes, I have no idea where the server was, but the hostess (bless her heart) came and brought us our drinks that were just sitting at the bar.
The server came around 10 minutes later and brought us out some drinks that tasted different than the ones we originally ordered but we took them for the long wait time.
We talked mostly to pass the time but music was so loud, I could barely even hear my friend talking.
We finally got our food around the one hour mark.
It was $18 for three small meatballs. They were the star of the experience as they tasted pretty good.
My friend got the lamb chops and they weren’t that good. They tasted burnt and not in a good, charred way.
I decided to order the mussels and when they arrived, they smelled so bad my friend said they smelled like a dead cat.
We tried it and spit it out. It tasted how it smelled. Salty and nasty. Whatever tomato sauce they use needs to be thrown out.
The server said when she walked to the back, they were asking her what that smell was and that she didn’t realize how bad they actually smelled and apologized again (this was her 3rd time considering she barely came to check on us and our drinks and food all took forever. Sweet girl though).
Once the restaurant cleared out, it was freezing (18 degree night) and it felt like they turned the A/C on or something it was so cold.
The restaurant wasn’t too nice for Buckhead standards, but the ambiance was nice and the DJ played great music. The whole place was lit. Very good vibes overall.
The automatic Service Fee was 20% which is probably why the servers weren’t pressed to provide actual decent, attentive service.
Parking was $20 at the lot in the Buckhead Butcher shop, not sure if they validate but they didn’t offer.
Overall: the food wasn’t good, the service wasn’t good, and for Buckhead (and really anywhere) this place was a...
