I have stayed at this location prior to my recent stay and was happy. This most recent stay, the person with whom I spoke (who had a heavy Kenian or Nigerian accent) never informed me of any incidental charges, other than a $25.00 parking fee each night (which I was prepared for). He lied and told the manager that he had in fact told me about those charges, which he did not. The parking deck was so small that there was no parking and I had to stay in my car until someone actually left the parking lot to gain a space to park. The person with the heavy accent assured me before I parked that if the parking area said said full, it was not true, there would be parking. Well, there wasn't unless you were prepared to wait in your car for however long it takes for another guest to exit the parking garage. In addition, if you drove your car to the end of a lane to search for a space and found no space available, there was no way to turn around and you have to back completely out of the lane (in a very confined area). Then the next lane, with no parking, and backing out again. That last and final parking lane, no parking, and requiring backing out of the garage. But first, the key that was provided to me would NOT work in the parking garage and I was holding up three other cars attempting to gain access. I had to literally make every car move out of the way so that I could BACK out of the entire garage to take my key back to the Nigerian who assured me there would be no problems with parking. The fact that he LIED to the manager about providing me with an explanation of the incidental fees was very rude and exasperating. The charges for my grandkids to merely get a coca cola and bag of chips was absolutely RIDICULOUS. I will NEVER stay there again and will be utilizing IHG Motels from here on out. In addition, I was advised that my room rate would be $116 per night. I note that I was charged on the first night the $116 rate, however the next day it was $133.57 and the next $151.08. Next, the fitted sheet on the bed DID NOT FIT. it was WAY too small (maybe for a full size bed), but there was no way we could make it fit. Then the bedspread was not even a bedspread, it was something resembling a fitted sheet with gatherings on all four corners. I don't understand that. Lastly, my granddaughter left her $200 Airpods sitting on the air conditioning unit of the room and she failed to pick it up when we left. No big surprise when I called and they said that no one had turned them in, and the cleaning staff didn't recall seeing them, which means they were basically stolen. They were in a cheetah print and someone from the cleaning crew took them and failed to turn them in. I am a recent widow and merely wanted to take my grandkids on a fun outing, but this place was an absolute nightmare and I will never stay...
Read moreIf I could, I would rate this hotel 0 stars. You do not deserve a rating. This is not a Hamton Inn; this is a motel 6 disguised as a Hamton Inn. My family and I LOVE staying at Hamton Inns and search for it everywhere go. However, it seems we will need to be more careful and do more research before booking at room at a Hamton Inn this experience.
First of all, the Hilton App indicates this is a contactless facility and guests should access the hotel and room using Digital Key in the app. However, the hotel lobby closes at 6 pm and the doors are not designed for contactless entry. Therefore, when my family and I arrived at the hotel we stood outside the front door for 30 minutes unable to enter the hotel. After countless attempts, I was able to get someone on the phone to let us in. When we came in, the person at the front desk did not apologize for the inconvenience and simply indicated that that was not a contactless facility and the hotel doors close at 6 pm.
Finally, we checked in. I returned to the car and follow the sign that says Hamton Inn parking to the right of the hotel and it leads to a basement with a broken access pad. I returned to the lobby to ask for help and I was instructed to go past the Hamton Inn parking sign and into the parking deck and get a ticket and return to lobby to validate. The parking deck felt like you could be mugged at any moment and there were questionable people loitering on the floors by the elevators.
After arriving at the room, we went to take a shower and the shower floor felt greasy. Additionally, the sheets and pillow cases on the bed smelled like sweat. Attempted to call the front desk and again they did not answer. The next day, we left room really early to start our day. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, realized the room was never cleaned: bed was not fixed, no new towels, sink was still wet, etc. I immediately went down to the lobby to find out why the room was not cleaned and proceeded to ask me if I was a Hilton Honors members. After I answered yes, the staff indicated guests must notify them if they would like their room to be cleaned - WHAT?!!!
Further (yes, there’s more), we called the front desk the last night at the hotel and requested a late check out. The next morning, housekeeping started banging on the door at, wait for it, 10:27 am. Immediately after almost knocking down the door, they opened the door, let themselves in, and found my wife half asleep sitting on the toilet. Yes, they saw my wife urinating half naked with her pajama pants below her knees. How humiliating!!!!
I have no words to describe how we felt after living through that nightmare for 4 days. We couldn’t relocate to another hotel because we would lose our money, otherwise...
Read moreBest experience on our whole 2 week road trip - this was our last hotel we were staying at and couldn't have been happier.
*To note, we got "Guest of the Day" which meant that instead of getting our originally booked King Bed w/ Fridge room, they bumped us up to the King Suite for no extra charge for BOTH nights we were staying! 😁😍🥰 I thought this was an amazing idea because they are giving back to their guests and you truly don't see that too often. They also validated our parking for both days which would have normally been $25/day. PROS: The place was gorgeous inside for starters. Very clean and well kept. Every entry way (after 6pm) requires a key card entry which improves safety (and I love that). Elevators require a key card to get to any floor which improves safety of all guests. Snacks and drinks OUTSIDE of vending machines (in main lobby) for purchase. All staff was very friendly from check in to check out. Room was VERY clean and well organized. Comforter and sheets had a luxury feel. Stand up shower was amazing! Outlets in lamps made it very convenient for traveling and needing to charge up multiple things. Cabinet space, counter, and sink by the front door in our room was a beautiful touch. Extra space is always a plus in our book! Desk, couch, and tv tray were a great addition to the room. They had a full closet in the bathroom to hang things in which was great since we were staying more than 1 night. Location was great for what we needed - close to restaurants, CVS, Publix, fast food, etc. TV was very nice - bigger than most that we have seen at other hotels. Housekeeping is upon request - so when you ask the front desk, they will send housekeeping for whatever is needed. Therefore, no "do not disturb" sign is needed as there won't be any visits unless you want/need them.
CONS:
Parking garage is not connected to the hotel, so you will have to walk out of the hotel to get to your car. If you park on level 1, it isn't that big of a deal, but it makes unloading and loading a longer process if you don't park in the front. Their garbage cans didn't have bags in them, so we couldn't empty/replace when needed. BUT their housekeeping will always take care of it promptly upon request. So it wasn't that big of a deal. All in all, it was a 5 star experience and we WILL come back here again the next time we come into town. (And hopefully we will try the breakfast...
