August 1, 2025 Dear J's Formal Wear, I am writing this review because I am disappointed with the service you provided to me. I rented a suit from you for a wedding on July 19th 2025. I did appreciate the service you provided. However, with ample time to make alterations to a suit and you having “Master Tailor” written on a plaque outside your entryway, I expected a higher standard of quality. I tried calling and making reservations on April 25th, but you did not answer the phone or give me a call back. I ended up sending the Groom to order my rental in person, about 2 weeks later. I regularly wear a suit and know how suits should fit. I sent my measurements in, and you called me back on July 7th 2025. We talked and I confirmed my measurements to you. I flew from Virginia to Seattle for the wedding and the next day came to pick up my rental. While in the store, you had me try on the suit and made alterations to the pants while I waited. Please look at the cropped pictures I am attaching and tell me this is how you want your Company represented! Every person that has seen the attached photos asked me why my suit did not fit properly. The suit jacket and shirt were too tight in the chest and the sleeves were too long. The pants were too long and too tight in the groin. The tie (besides being sent with two colors) was also too short. Out of the 4 items I rented from you, none of them fit me properly. I know there were 4 of us that used you for this wedding and all 4 of us had issues with our suits, including the groom. This is especially galling because I rented the suit in question from you for $262.90, but I bought a suit previously from Men’s W. (one that fits) for $421.19. At more than half the price of a purchase, I would expect a rental to actually fit me. Unless you can physically go in and let him measure you, wait for the alterations to be completed and go back in to try on the suit again in case more alterations are needed before your event, I would not use J's...
Read morePlease avoid this place at all costs unless you want to stink to high heaven on your special day. This was the experience of my cousins entire wedding party after paying over $200 for rental tuxedos. The armpit stench was unbearable on my jacket and when I confronted the owner about it, he became defensive and started yelling at me. He then offered to try to get the stench off just hours before the wedding. His attempts were unsuccessful and I had no other option but to try to mask the awful smell with cologne. I was self conscious during the entire ceremony and still cannot believe I paid $240 for a stinky tuxedo that didn't even include socks! Please avoid this place and go to the Men's wearhouse or...
Read moreJ was so amazing oh my gods. We're eloping tomorrow and as soon as he heard we had a very small budget he rushed us over to the cheapest items he had and started doing the sizing on my fiance. He asked if we could come back at 5pm after he hems the pants and when he found out my fiance worked at 5pm he immediately checked if 4pm would work. I'm nonbinary and he caught on immediately and referred to me as "fiance" and never she/her. The store was so brightly lit and clean and organized, we're going to tell everyone we know to come here and we can't wait to pick up the items we purchased. J is just a genuinely nice guy and you can tell he...
