if it wasn't for the prices at this store, I would NEVER do business with Burlington Coat Factory. Review is purely based on Loss Prevention, not products, will explain below!
Me & my fiancé were at the Auburn Supermall for the monthly card show that happens the 1st Saturday of the month. While he was shopping, I decided to go into Burlington since it had been awhile and wanted to see what cool bathroom items they had, recently remodeled our master bathroom and wanted to find some cool canisters. I found some items I wanted, waited in the 25 minute line, paid for my items and left out the mall exit. As I am walking out, the security sensor went off....I was shocked. A frizy dark haired 20's female with glasses yells at me "I need to check your bag".....again, SHOCKED. I walked over to the girl, opened my bag, handed her the receipt and said PLEASE CHECK IT. She goes through my items, and realizes that there was a sensor that wasn't' removed off a hair product. She took if off and handed the bag back to me. I just looked at her and said "Sooo, now that you have embarrassed me, accursed me of stealing and having the security system go off, AND CLEARLY I DIDNT' STEAL, your sales associate failed to remove the tag....how are you going to make me whole again" She just stars at me...and says "I have no idea"......
I worked in retail in college. When we forgot to remove a sensor, we gave them a 20% coupon for the trouble and OUR MISTAKE for not removing the sensor!!
Employees do not care about customers. I really was just hoping that this loss prevention associate would have just apologized "I am so sorry that we didn't' remove that sensor and you had to go through this" SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT...nothing
Burlington, DO BETTER. After awhile, prices as low as they are won't matter, there is always Amazon that...
Read moreBurlington coat factory used to be truly a one-of-a-kind store; where, although prices may have been high, there was no better way or place to shop for and buy any type of coat - for any type of person...
Unfortunately that is not the way these stores operate any longer. First of all they're just called burlington. No More Burlington coat factory apparently.
And instead of feeling like you're in a Macy's, (for coats, exclusively), you feel as though you're in a T.j Maxx, (with high ceilings). Or maybe a Ross... WHAT A SHAME!
We went there specifically to buy my wife a winter coat, and there were so few coats in stock we couldn't even find one she found even remotely acceptable! On top of that, the section where the coats had been, is so terribly small, ESPECIALLY in relation to the glory that used to be Burlington coat factory, I felt let down and sad that one of my favorite stores has declined / changed so much and so few years... Too bad...
I have to say that on a positive note all of the staff members were very helpful, friendly and exactly what I would expect from well-trained, well mannered customer service Representatives. The store was clean and tidy even amidst the chaos of children running around, the day before Christmas eve, and ALL other MANNER of CHAOS that ensues given this TIME of YEAR.
Message to CEO and ALL other ADMIN PERSONNEL:
We the people want Burlington COAT FACTORY BACK! Please do everything in your power to make it so :-)
It's not a bad store, but if you haven't been there in 5 to 10 years, do not expect...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place. My wife and I visited this place may be every weekend while we lived in Auburn.
We recently stopped by here to buy some cloths. My wife filled the cart and wanted to try before buying and we found out that the trail rooms are closed. We she went to ask if they had moved it, she was told that they don’t have enough people to man the trial room. Later my wife overheard the manager tell tellers that they were short of money, and now saving it as trial rooms require couple full time employees.
Not a good experience as customer. As a man I just on some shirts like other guys were doing in the aisle (I was not that comfortable either trying in open). For my wife she kept back all that she selected back in the rack as she was not confident in fit of some of the cloths.
The other thing we noticed was that the racks were not organized. All sizes were mixed and women dresses were in guys section. Customers do that kind of thing, but as a store owner it is part of the job to keep it organized. I think they let the organizer team let go as well. For them tellers are the one keeping the business running.
I don’t know I may not be returning to this store anymore. We liked it when it was organized and there was a trial room. If we can try, then we would rather buy from Amazon using their try before you...
