Unfortunately my experience with Jimelle Flooring was not great. Back in 2014 when I was shopping for flooring I found a style I loved that was outside of Auburn. Since I always find it important to support my own community and shop local when I can - I took the sample to Jimelle asking if they could get me the same thing which they said no problem, ordered the floor, and had it installed. After the install I started noticing my vinyl was starting to come apart in various rooms it was installed in. I contacted Jimelle who informed me the manufacture actually changed their install instructions 30 days after my install was completed. So instead of correcting the install per the updated instructions they contacted the manufacture who said going back and gluing down the perimeter should take care of it. Unfortunately that did not, as I currently have 27 sections of my flooring coming apart.
To be fair it has been some time since my floor was installed - even though this has been going on for a couple years now. So I decided to give Jimelle a call to talk through and see if we could find a resolution, and they sent one of their seasoned techs to take a look. Within 2 seconds of looking at my floor he could tell it was not installed right. He said my floor was installed as a floating floor when my vinyl did not have any tongue and grooves to hold the vinyl together. Based on what Jimelle it telling me today my vinyl is a non-slip and does not need that. However with 27 sections out of place something sounds off.
I do understand things like this can happen, and that is not my issue with Jimelle. My issue with Jimelle is they would not even work with me to find a resolution. Instead they just called back with the stock answer "sorry this is a manufacture issue not an install issue, and your 1 year warranty is over". I did push back on that because the floor itself is fine - it was the way it was installed that was the issue. However their response was " we followed the directions". It just disappoints me that they are not willing to take ownership of what happened - especially with the history knowing the install instructions were changed 30 days after my floors were installed. Had they gone back when this was under warranty and used the updated instructions vs the bandaid they worked out - I would not be sitting here 2600 dollars later with 27 sections of my floor out of place. I even went a step further saying I would be willing to cover half of the cost to fix this, but they said "sorry this is your problem, and if you had gotten it from the store out of Auburn they would not help you either”.
So I just want to say thank you Jimelle, I appreciate the great customer service and value you have in your customers. It’s too bad you couldn’t be bothered to even try and work something out knowing this was no fault of mine.
