I am 52 years old and kind of a "diy" kind of guy. I have been in many "orange" stores as well "blue" ones. I am not knocking them in any way. I travel for my job and recently went to Ace Hardware out of convenience. First I went there 2 weeks ago looking for a hand saw that the orange and blue stores did not have. To my surprise they had it! Today I was looking for a rake with the stiff metal tines like your dad or grandpa probably had. Out of habit I went to the "other" stores first but was unsuccessful. I almost forgot about Ace but happened to be driving past and thought I would give it a shot. If course they had it. Not really surprising to me at this point. Most importantly about Ace is their employees. They have the friendliest and most helpful I have met anywhere. The only name I remember from this particular store is Logan. They were all great but he stood out because I talked to him the most. Great personality and a definite asset to this establishment. Ace does great at finding people with a personality to fit the job. Kudos to them, all of their employees, and especially Logan. Btw, this particular store is in Auburn Indiana. I recommend going a little out of your way to shop there...
Read moreThis place is a joke! Took in some screens to have them replace. We recieved a call saying they were done so we called them back to see how much they would cost. The girl who answered the phone was very rude and basically said she didn't know and hung up on us. So we waited a couple of days, trying to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe since they just got them done they didn't have the cost figured out yet. My husband called back 2 days later and was told they were going to cost 64.49. We went to pick them up and was told they were going to cost $111. When we said that that was not the price we were given nor was it what we had put in our budget since it was almost twice the price. We were told we were basically told tough luck we could pay it or not get our screens back. I was planning on getting our paint to repaint our house and materials for some other home improvement projects we are doing from them. I will never buy anything...
Read moreOn 10/25/24, my husband & I were visiting from out of State my very Senior parents (87 & 85 yo) who regularly buy honey this store sells for local farmers. My parents were not feeling well this morning & out of the honey they use daily, so my husband offered to go get the honey. My husband said when he went in, the cashier was cleaning the popcorn machine & didn't even stop to look at him when he asked about the honey. She did finally begrudgingly help him out. He said she was quite rude and snappy to him when making this transaction. It was about 9:30 am. I don't know if this woman woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but she needs not take her bad day out on customers who spend $60 or so on a regular basis. Courtesy to your customers should always be #1. This lady gave better service to the...
