Can be a busy place with a few people around with no respect for vehicle traffic. I have had many instances where people will walk out right in front of you , looking right at you, and proceed to walk right down the middle of the driving lanes. I know this place is a very large parking lot with lots of shopping stores banks and drive thru restaurants, but come on people. For instance I almost ran a pedestrian over tonight as I was driving at a pace slower than a walk due to someone doing just that, walking right down middle of lane watching me without giving the respect to vehicle and stepping to either side of the lane. Then gets to the door store front of Albertsons and stops to just stare at me. Then walks away from the store in opposite direction. As he clears finally I start to proceed and right in the corner of my eye I see another walk right out in front of me slapping the hood of my f350 4x4 truck jumping up and down. Probably to make sure that I seen him so he didn't get hit. So come on people respect what a vehicle can do to a person you are no match to steel and the weight of a car when a car is moving don't step out in front of it being one foot away from it and expect not to be run over or hit by the vehicle. To the man I almost hit I am sorry and I am glad I seen you before you even slapped the hood of my truck. If not it would have been too late. You would have been hit. At least give some space for someone to see you and stop before you walk right out in front of them. However the stores in White River Junction are good stores and I like to shop there guess that some or a few people around the area need some new learnings about respect or even crossing the street and...
Read moreBecause this restaurant is also part of a golf club, the parking was not exactly what I would call ideal. The building for the actual restaurant was not very clearly marked and we had to drive around a bit. My party was seated at a table that overlooked the mountains, and it was a very nice view. We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer, and it came with fine cold cuts, delicious ground mustard, feta cheese and the freshest raspberries you can get; all to compliment the flatbread that also came before the entree. Our server was Caleb, and he was delightful. Our every need was tended to in a timely and courteous manner. I ordered a mojito cocktail and it was amongst the best I have had. I cannot say the same for the New Zealand Lamb Rack. I usually order lamb rack when it is available, and though I am by no means a connoisseur, I know what I loke. It was tender and juicy but almost completely flavorless. It was served over a heap of butternut squash which I had previously never tried, and never will again if this dish was any indicator. But that is a matter of taste. Dessert was a butter cake drizzled with chocolate sauce, sufficient but not earthshaking by any means. For a 5 star restaurant, I guess unexpected a little more, but hey there's always next time. Perhaps something else on their menu will strike my fancy next time I am...
Read moreI say the place is great for quickness in the drive thru. They seem to be focused on the drive thru so much that during peak hours it can be hectic. They do park a lot of the cars in the drive thru.
As for the front counter. It does seem like you wait there a lot to be seen by someone. And once they do your not all that important it feels like. They don't seem to come rushing to serve you and they aren't usually greeting you with a smile.
As for the food it is a McDonald's and all. Yet they do go overboard on condiments when special orders are put in. Or like you ask them fresh off the grill and you still get what has been sitting the longest. Unless it expired and ordered before 10 pm. Yet when I ask for "extra seasoning and fresh off the grill." I still get their older meat.
If you ask for extra or no salt on the fries. I'm sure that they aren't always fresh because they were cold in under 3 mins. Or as I'm walking out the door. That's what gets me the most. Their world famous french fries. And they are not always super fresh. About 8 or out 10 times they do okay 6 out of 10 for special orders only, they mess them up.
I know that the store when I worked there in the early 90's was a trial store for equipment. And a training store for Store and Asst....
