My mom and I were greeted by a female employee who let us know that we could have a seat anywhere we liked. There were four tables occupied it seemed like and a person ahead of us was there for pick up. We chose a booth and got waters and menus. I got the Sweet Rice Mix Plate while my mom got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and 2 stars for the spice level. I also asked for the pandan mango sticky rice for dessert.
We got the pineapple fried rice first which was surprising but the mix plate came a little afterwards. We were also surprised with the complimentary fried chicken skins which wasn't even on their menu but it was delicious. The pineapple fried rice was a bit too salty and oily for my mother's taste but I enjoyed it, though I will agree it was a bit more oily than I would like. As others have mentioned, the sausage that comes on the mix plate is the star of the show and you can just taste all the seasoning and herbs put into it. Absolute umami bomb! The other meats were too dry for me and it gets tiring on the teeth so had to take them home. The sweet rice that comes with the mix plate was also way too dry for our taste and that was the one thing we did not pack up. The pandan mango sticky rice was refreshing but I feel the sticky rice and mango ratio was off as we had a lot of rice leftover. The mangos were ripe and the sticky rice for this one was a better texture than the one we got with our meal.
The service here was stellar. Our waitress checked in on us often and had a positive attitude with other customers as well. Thanks to Siobhan and Giselle for being amazing servers!
The ambiance here is pretty decent but definitely can use a touch up as there were some areas that need to be repainted and definitely could use a bit more to make the place pop! The ceiling is very modern feeling though so it has the right ideas but just a little bit more work! The lady's restroom was also pretty clean when I...
Read moreOut for a evening to celebrate a new job. Very underwhelmed by the lack attention given to the experience from the customers point of view.
They seem to have a confused message. On one hand they want to protray a classy place. Nice decor, clean look, nice staff, quality chopsticks. But then undercut that by turning themselves into a fast food type restaurant.
You order from the counter, pay entree prices, where they serve you food on paper plates and plastic sauce cups and cardboard bowls. It really cheapens the experience. Also I find that leaving the metal forks on the table so that anyone can touch them or handle them presents a sanitary issue. How would they know if any of them were used or tampered with yuck!
The food overall is good but if their model is turn and burn fast food we won't be back. The springs rolls stick to the cardboard paper plates and the peanut sauce is cheaply done ruined by cutting it too much with coconut milk. Also found tofu in chicken pad Thai and the egg was burned which causes the whole dish to taste bad. Pepper beef was really good.
Overall it was slightly better than a typical visit to Chipotle. I feel they can do better. Fix the fork issue before you get someone sick and invest in some dishes. Ask the people when they order, here or to go, if they say here serve them on a plate. If it's to go then you're fine using...
Read more2 stars for customer service. No issues with the quality of the food.
I ordered food, went to pick it up 2 minutes after my estimated pickup time, I told the employee that I was picking up my order, was told that my food was almost ready, and I sat down to wait for it. 25 minutes go by with others coming and picking their food up after being told that their food was almost ready and getting theirs before I got mine (to be fair, I don’t know what the order priority was of who ordered first). I figured that they were busy and would let me know when my order would be ready. A few minutes later, I asked if they had a timeframe of how much longer it would be for my order to be ready. The employee asked me if it was for DoorDash and I told that employee that it wasn’t, it was my order. Employee told me that my order has been ready for some time now…
Suggestions:
Give an estimated time for when customers can expect their order to be ready: “It’s going to be about another 5 minutes. Thanks for your patience!” I understand that there are delays and have no problems with that. All you have to do is ask the cooks if they have an estimated completion time or not.
Let the customer know when their order is ready.
Off to enjoy the lukewarm food now so that I’m not...
