Lee's Meat Market — Local services in Austin

Well, don't want to be too bitchy, but going to make some demi glace and new to Austin. Looking for some veal bones. Girl on the phone just said "nope" without any thought. So, I asked her if they handle veal there and she put the phone down to ask somebody apparently in the meat dept. He said yes. So, I finished my question when she came back, "do you process veal and if so can I get some bones" - hear the guy say "nope." I said thanks and she just hangs up, no "goodbye" or "sorry couldn't help you." Seems C/S is lacking and also what meat market doesn't have some veal bones once in a while? Maybe this one doesn't. The best steaks in town. Her prime cuts are really something special, Central Market and Whole Foods don't compare.

Like other reviewers mentioned, the sandwiches and lunch items are delicious and reasonably priced with generous portions. The beef tenderloin sandwich is every bit as good as they say. The sides are also a treat, nothing Lee offers is average.

I keep waiting for the day when Lee's is discovered by the trendy crowd and gets mobbed. Until then, be thankful for silly reviewers and snippy two star ratings (They didnt have ANY veal bones!). It's a place that old Austin keeps...
