SunKissed — Local services in Avalon

Sun Kissed shop had beautiful products. The shop itself is inviting by design/location/inventory. We purchased a set of the Turkish Towels and enjoyed it beachside, poolside and even while napping on the Catalina Express. Unfortunately, the older lady with a tousled, blonde updo, behind the register did not have a sunny disposition and did not provide respectful treatment and good/equal customer service while we shopped the afternoon of Saturday, 3/31. Upon entering, we smiled and said hi. She seemed annoyed when my husband, my cousin, our 11 year old kids and I, entered. She didn’t verbally greet us back or ask to help after out interest in a few items. But she overly doted on a female customer who came in after us. We then stood by the register patiently waiting (with no other customer in front of us) to pay for the towels and she ignored us only to then ask rudely “what’s up?” I decided to ignore the tone and said “we’d like to buy these towels”. Perhaps I misheard her but my daughter confirmed later she heard her, too. My husband didn’t hear her and proceeded to pay for the towels. I don’t know if she had something against families shopping, non-locals, non-whites - or if she didn’t have lunch yet- or was annoyed she had to sit back there for a minute - or what - but she needs to reassess and be made aware of her demeanor /behavior / customer service prejudices otherwise Sun Kissed will have to kiss future business, goodbye from visitors like us who want to enjoy our Catalina stay, spend money and see...

Staff was very rude and sneaky. Never told us about their return policy, or lack there of. They hide it behind pictures at the register. Pretty sad and miserable old lady’s that work the...
