We frequent this theater as it is close to the house and its fairly decent. The 2 things that that keep this place from being great are the flavors of the sodas, and the lack of food. They have a state of the art soda fountain that has a screen where u can select from several different brands of soda, tea, lemonade, and flavored water. Im not sure if it is the machine or what but I have NEVER gotten a decent soda from there. It's either overly carbonated w little flavor or decent flavor and flat.... if we pay premium prices for concessions can we get decent quality? I can overlook if it happens here n there.... that stuff happens.... but EVERY SINGLE TIME? Also they have been following in McDonald's footsteps and much like the ice cream machine is always down.....the mythical đ hotdogs aren't ready and will be done in about 8 minutes. When you come back for them they just gave out the last one. PRO-TIP: if its a busy weekend night make alot of hotdogs.... theyre gonna sell i promise you!! With seats at half capacity you might think that they wouldn't allow that much revenue bypass with no effort to retain it. However.... they are very clean. Last night we tried the D-box theater and let me tell you that was an amazing experience that everyone must try. The seats rumble and shake along w the movie. In the scene where the character was in a car chase the seat moved w every turn and leaned back upon acceleration , moved forward abruptly when the car stopped. When the car went in reverse the seat seemed to lean forward like u would if u were in the car. When explosions happened the chair rumbled and shook too. Best part was during the parts when its calm right before a scary part comes the chair would move click.....click.....click.... very slowly....as the suspense builds.... click..click....click.... then when the scary part comes the chair would shake and vibrate heightening the experience. It was a pure adrenaline rush.... it took a so so scary movie and made it incredible.... definitely...
Read moreI have been to this theatre many times with no problems but this evening I received customer service poor enough that I will not go back to Maya again. I purchased D-BOX 3D seats for myself and my son in advance. We got to the theatre and purchased drinks...then headed into the movie excited...only to find that people were sitting in the seats that we reserved in advance. I spoke to an attendant thinking maybe I had the seats wrong. The attendant talked to several people (by this time the movie had already started) and then came back to us and said that "a lot of people are sitting in the wrong seats" and that we should go talked to customer service. I have no idea why they didn't simply ask the people to move. We went out to the customer service desk and spoke to whom I assume was the manager and were told that they had already sent somebody in to make people move. We went back into the movie to find that nobody had moved and there wasn't even an attendant present. I went back to the customer service desk and ask them why nobody had moved. They then said that they could refund part of our money and we could watch the movie in a different standard theatre. I explained to them that the only reason we came to that theatre and paid extra money was for the D-BOX experience. The offered to refund the price of the tickets MINUS THE CONVENIENCE FEE that I had paid to purchase the tickets in advance and refused to refund the $12 for the 2 sodas that we bought.
So. We drove far out of our way and spent nearly $20 on a movie that we didn't even get to see. I'm not the type to blast a place for a single bad experience, but this customer service was so appalling that I couldn't let it go. I will not go back to this theatre again. I will save a 20 minute drive...about $15 on tickets and get great service from our theatre here in Rosedale. I hope this helps somebody else from making a...
Read moreThe manager was so rude on the specific day I went. I was trying to take my nephew to play in their arcade on a weekday, meaning I would be spending at least $30 in the arcade section. I asked the ticket boy if we could go to the arcade without buying movie tickets, he asked the manager and she said no. I thanked him and went to the ticket booth to buy tickets for a movie. My nephew did not want to see a movie so I asked the ticket lady if I could buy one ticket so that we could get into the arcade. She seemed shocked that we were denied access because what business turns away money? The manager comes over and starts telling me that the arcade is only for customers waiting to see a movie. I said I understood and that's why I was trying to buy a ticket. She then said she didn't want me to go in there, play and then ask for a ticket refund! I told her I didn't want a refund and that she could rip the ticket as soon as I bought it. She said the arcade was not open to the public. She also had an attitude and talked in an aggressive tone. This happened on Monday 9/23/3021 around 6 PM. It was as dead as can be, but I guess the manager was worried about a little boy keeping "all" her customers from playing in the arcade. Plus if I was spending money in the arcade, wouldn't that make me a customer? Her logic baffled me. Anyhow thanks to that incident, I discovered Blvd Arcade center and my little nephew had a blast that evening! As we were leaving the arcade he mentioned how polite the staff at Blvd were and how rude the lady from the theater wasđ If an 8 year old was able to make that observation, then that means she was...
