Sarah Clothing — Local services in Bakersfield

I recently discovered this store and was pleasantly surprised. I had been searching for an evening gown in a specific color for an upcoming event without any luck. Although I often drove by this store, I never thought to stop in. Finally, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to check it out.

Upon entering, I was amazed by the vast selection of clothing and dresses. They had several options in the colors I needed, which are typically hard to find. I arrived around 5:30 pm and began browsing. However, shortly after, I heard an announcement that the dressing rooms were closed. Assuming it didn't apply to me since I was already trying on clothes, I continued. A few minutes later, the store announced its closing, which surprised me since Google indicated they close at 9:45 pm.

A bit dissapointing that I couldn't try on all the dresses, I inquired about their return policy if i purchased all of them, hoping to try them at home. Unfortunately, all dresses were final sale. However, the staff suggested holding the dresses for me until the next day, which they kindly did. When I returned next day , the dresses were on hold as promised, allowing me to try and purchase my favorites. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the process.

I give this store 4 stars due to the final sale policy. An easier return policy for the dresses and updated hours on Google would enhance the shopping experience. Despite this, the store offers a great selection and excellent customer service. Highly...

Stopped by to "look around". Hadn't heard of the business until I noticed the Sports Authority was closed. Was in the area to drop my dog off for grooming @ PetsMart, just down the street. Had stopped @ McDonald's for quick breakfast, got to stoplight to make a U-turn, noticed that Sarah was open, turned in to get a quick look. Decided to go in, my great granddaughter had told me previously that it was a good place to shop. She's 14, so she knows about these things! Upon entering the store I was amazed at how large it was. I immediately looked for a cart, they had none, just a plastic basket to carry and fill. I walk with a cane, so carrying a basket with one hand & a cane in the other was not desirable at this time. A cart would have allowed me to store the cane & handbag and using the cart for support, walk my way around the store. I was greeted at the entrance by a young man I assumed was security. After a short tour of a part of the store I returned to the front. I stopped to chat with the young man for a brief moment. He was very helpful in providing me with information about the business when I asked. I will probably go there again to shop for the younger women...

First of all the workers there are so unprofessional. The only thing they do is stand there and mess around with each other. First time I went to the store one of the employees (a guy) asked me a dumb question, I said that I didn't know the answer than the others employees were looking at him while he asked me the question and I said I didn't know they all loudly started laughing. They are so childish. Than the lady at the register didn't tell me about the heels I bought being a final sale. Plus I waited over 5 min for her to give me my change back because the register was out of ones and she ended giving me $4.50 in dimes, nickels, and pennys. Second time I went, I was looking around the store, the employees were still just goofing around and doing absolutely nothing while many costumers needed help. One lady asked for help and the young girl have her attitude and the costumer left the store. I ended up buying a couple pair of yoga pants and 3 outfits one of the yoga pants was ripped. I went back to the store tried to exchange then and they wouldn't let me exchange them while insinuating that I had already worn it and ripped it. Definitely will not be going back...
