*Update 2025: This Artscape was AIIGHT.šš Eh, Felt Sum Kinda Way about it not being in Mt Vernon: Please move Artscape BACK to where it was. If it aint Broke, please Don't TRY to Fix it. This yr was OK but did not have the same Vibe/Feel as yrs past. Did not buy anything this year. Did find my fav Thai food stand. Some nice indoor Art Spaces & Good Stage Stuff & DJ/Music.
Wind up leaving earlier than usual. Also, seemed like a couple things from previous yrs were missing. 1 thing: Was not Hades Hot like always.š„š„¹š„µš”Overall still Cool āļøš but lacked the Magical Awesomeness of previous Artscapes.šš
Artscape 2023-25: Unfortunately, we seemed to have had even more Bad Luck in the form of Heavy Rain, Lightening, & Flash Flooding for Artscape 2024. 2023 yeah Sat was rough as far as storms but this Artscape Chaka Khan was cancelled on Fri then Sat more bad weather and Sheila E's performance was cancelled too. It felt like we just couldn't catch a break as far as the heavy rain for almost the entire weekend.
Myself and a friend arrived Sat 5:30 pm only to be told Artscape was cancelled. But alas, Sunday was the Charm!! There was a little drizzle, and it was hot & humid like always for ARTSCAPE, but Sunday was really nice.āļøš MTA COOLING BUS & WATER BEING GIVEN OUT. Lot of good BUSSIN' food choices from Trucks to Stands. Various places all over to chill hang out & just sit from the curb to benches + small tables in the surrounding areas.
Beautiful seeing Beautiful People of all races, ages, and walks of Life! Caught Navasha Daya, The Original Wailers, and a cover band. Bought some GR8! Art, jewelry, clothing, etc. from the AWESOME Artists/Vendors. Something for EVERYONE. Listened to some Spoken Word and there was an AMAZING guy breakdancing he was Fabulous!!! A Good Crowd.
There was also a beautiful Vibe despite the cancellations and bad weather from Fri & Sat. I GOTTA give Artscape FIVE Stars because although it ain't perfect, and there's been some bad luck & hiccups past few years but there is NO Other FREE ARTS Festival like this where BALTIMORE Maryland and beyond Shows UP & Shows Out LIKE THIS: Regardless. HIGHLY...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooks like I wonāt be going this year either, they keep messing it up! They keep playing musical months and now musical locations with it. Why is it being held in May and not in July as normal? Last year someone had the bright idea to have it in September in the beginning of hurricane season so yeah, it got rained out. Yes July can be hot as it always is every summer since the beginning of time so why is that so surprising? And why is the location changed to a smaller area especially in an area where traffic is not the greatest on a normal day(I should know, I work in the areaš”) and itās not the arts district. While they prep for this, they already single handedly ruined parking in the area for those who have to work down here, total disaster. Have to circle for hours looking parking because they have restricted it. Give zero notice of the changes. There is nothing artsy about the area at all. Thereās nothing around in general downtown, just city hall, other decrepit city buildings, bad traffic and out of sync or blinking traffic lights. Now from what I hear it supposed to be a heavy metal concert somewhere down there on the same weekend. Proven once again someone donāt know how to reconcile with a calendar of events to check for potential conflicting events. Same as September of last year, UB and MICA just went back in session and there was a pre season football game going on the same weekend. Since the years after the Covid shut down, it gets more disorganized, running it straight into the ground. Just like last year, somebody is not good at planning and looking...
