I stayed 3 nights at the Hampton Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor for a conference at the convention center and overall, the stay itself was good and would stay again if I found myself in downtown Baltimore. Unlike most identical HIs, this is a converted early 1900s office building with a wide open lobby and huge windows in the rooms, which were nice touches. I picked a corner room on the 4th floor and it was rather large with plenty light through the big windows on 2 sides. The fixtures were in good shape, the TV was large with a decent number of channels and there was more than adequate power outlets. The common areas were mostly in good shape except for the elevators, which looked like they were 1915 original! The breakfast was your standard HI setup with the hot food changing slightly each day. It was kept well stocked and there was always a seat available each morning. There was good security with the front door requiring key card 16 hours a day and the elevators requiring them at all times. There was also a guard at night which is needed as downtown Baltimore is a bit sketchy, especially at night. Oddly, however, there wasn't a safe in the room. The location is pretty good for the convention center or Camden Yards with a bunch of visiting fans staying there and there are a number of restaurants a short walk away. Walking around during the day was never an issue, just be more careful after dark as the streets of downtown are strangely devoid of foot traffic.

Was super excited to stay at this hotel and picked it because of its great location and proximity to the inner harbor. The architecture inside and outside is so pretty & very historic. The front desk manager (Ralph) however managed to take away from our experience on the very first day. He couldn’t care to talk to a customer who was waiting in the lobby for 20 min for a valet. In his opinion, the customer should have come to him and asked for help instead of waiting for the valet. When my husband asked for help because of the long wait, Ralph tried to justify the long wait. My husband is a Diamond member and stays at Hilton hotels every week. He knows the ropes and understands good customer service and quick resolution of problems. Ralph kept trying to explain his point of view (regarding the long wait for parking) in an effort to argue his case and prove us wrong. Ralph also made a mention of the fact that my husband probably didn’t understand his explanation very well! Having travelled the world and having stayed at some of the best Hilton hotels, I can unequivocally say that this manager represented the hotel chain very poorly!!! Here’s a tip for Ralph: When a customer is unhappy about a situation, apologize and fix it instead of justifying yourself and then coaching the customer about what they should have done differently!! P.S. Received an email & phone call with management who apologized and tried to make it right…appreciate the effort!

A very bad if not the worst place I’ve ever stayed in.. stayed at the hotel overnight with my family and my 5 month old baby to found roaches between the sheets right next to my 5 month old baby. I’ve called front desk and never heard anything until I check out.It seem that they didn’t care at all. Despite the fact that I even called for a clogged toilet. And no one even give me a call back. There is a lack of hospitality big time a lack of leadership and a lack of costumer service. My wife and I work on the industry and we noticed that it was going to be a nightmare since we check in, when the front desk lady got upset because we were trying to get in and the door was jammed and we tried to open it and it got stuck. When I spoke to the manager they only offered to return our Hilton honors points and did nothing more. I can’t believe the lack of heath and service.

Stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is clean, room was nice, comfortable beds, staff were all nice and helpful. I appreciate the coffee/tea in the lobby. You have to use your door card in the elevator which is kind of a pain if you have stuff in your hands but from a security perspective, I get it. The breakfast was hot with a good variety except I would have liked fruit (the only fruit was bruised up apples and bananas). The only complaint I have is about the valet service. In order to pay and request my vehicle, I had to download an app which they said they are texting me a link to. They tried mulitple times over 2 days and I never got the text. Tried on wifi, without wifi, double checked the number, spam folder, etc. to no avail. I asked why couldn't I just pay at the front desk and was told that the hotel is separate from the valet service (even though they are operating out of the hotel and only serve this hotel). I asked if a link could be emailed to me and they said no. Finally I got one employee to let me pay by scanning a QR code off their device. They said that this app is the only way to request your car when you want it. Afte I had stood there dealing with this for well over half an hour, I said there has to be another way to handle this if I'm not getting the text. I was told I could call the front desk to request my car. When I did that the next morning, the front desk told me that they don't handle that, that I would have to request it through the app. I explained that I never got the text after multiple attempts and the employee actually asked me if I had checked that they had my correct phone number, as if I am an idiot and don't know how how to do things. I was told she couldn't request the car for me that I would have to go phyiscally down to the lobby to talk to the valet service. SO while everyone else was requesting their cars from the comfort of their rooms while getting ready, I had to leave my room and go down and wait and physically find someone to request my car each time. The valet service kept telling me that the front desk will help but any time I tried to get help from the front desk I was told they don't do that. So, while I did end up getting my car over those two days, I had to re-explain the issue to each employee I spoke with and had to take extra time to do it. It was very inconvenient and frustrating. The issue is that the hotel and valet service are not cooperating together to serve customers. As a customer when I am told the hotel has a valet service, it's being run out of the hotel, the hotel has some level of responsibility to help if a customer isn't getting served..and that just didn't happen. There also did not seem to be any other process in place if someone doesn't get a text. THe empoloyees were confused and just kept trying to re-text me rather than try to figure out a different way. Why couldn't a link be emailed to me? Why couldn't a QR code download the app for me without me having to get a text that I never received? The valet employees were all very nice but seemed to be at a loss as to how to help me if I didn't get that text. Very frustrating experience and I'm not sure I would use the valet service again next time we are...

The front desk was awesome. Greeted us right away and made us feel welcomed. When we 1st arrived, the room we were put in, the door would not close and lock. You could push the door and it would open right up. When when we went down to report the issue, they gave us another room, which was nice. Hotel room was pretty quiet. The only thing that woke us up at one point was some loud car going down the street, but other than that, didn't hear anything else.

Parking. We Uber'ed everywhere when we stayed, so we did not pay for valet service. If you do have a car, it's going to cost you $45 a night, just an FYI. We skipped doing a rental, and it saved so much monies for us.

Location is good, 3 blocks from the harbor. However, let me warn you by saying be careful where you go. Some places we went to, such as the CVS near the hotel, there were a lot of shady people hanging out and about, and the smell of weed didn't help the situation. The streets too, are littered with garbage. I saw 3 men walking down the street, with "clean up crew" shirts, garbage buns and brooms, but did they pick up any garbage on the streets? Nope. Now this isn't the hotels fault at all, but just letting you know it's not the cleanest area here, and just be mindful of your surroundings if you walk anywhere.

Pool. It's on the LL floor (below the lobby) along with a workout room, but we did not check it out. From what other travelers said here on Google about the pool, it wasn't clean, but again, we didn't check it out, so I couldn't tell you how it really was.

Free breakfast. It's good. Filled us up for our adventures we took during the day. The staff during breakfast was great. If you needed anything, they were on top of it. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, bagels, muffins, and a lot of other things to choose from was a bonus.

Note: the lobby is only accessible from 10am - 6pm, but outside of those hours, you can get in by using your room key.

Wifi worked good. The do have some type of cable service, but a lot of channels were out due to the Disney contract.

Check out Peters Pour House right around the corner. It's a dive bar, but their food is really good! Also check out "The Empanada Lady" about a block away. That place has amazing food, if you like empanadas!

All in all, if we're ever in Downtown Baltimore again, we'd stay here again. The price was right, and we had a nice time...

I very much regret booking a stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor for two nights during our trip to Baltimore in June 2021. There are primarily two reasons for that regret. The first - and by far the more important reason - is that when we made our reservation through hotels.com, we got the impression that there was a separate sitting area. Quoting from the language of our reservation: "Facilities 2 Queen Beds; Layout - Separate sitting area." However, there was no such separate sitting area and the lack thereof made a tremendous difference to our stay. We were traveling with our 2-year old daughter and because we were all in the same physical space, she ended up staying awake as long as we were awake until say 10:30 at night as opposed to going to bed much earlier in the evening. Had we known that these rooms do not have a separate sitting area, we would have never booked a stay at this hotel. A related mismatch between what the reservation at Hotels.com indicated and the amenities actually available was the lack of a microwave. This made heating milk for our daughter a bit challenging.

The second reason why this hotel fell far short of expectations is that the breakfast was absolutely awful. I would have never imagined Hampton Inn & Suites to turn in such a poor show when it came to the breakfast. There was no hot food available - not even scrambled eggs. One could get these cold breakfast sandwiches and heat them in one of the two microwaves available (which also get backed up by the way) but even after a minute of heating (as recommended on the side of microwave), the sandwiches are cold, limp, and decidedly unappetizing. When we had booked the hotel, we were very much hoping to have a heavy breakfast in the morning and do a lot of sight-seeing before having lunch but such was certainly not the case here. And oh breakfast closes at 9 a.m. on weekdays, which is why we couldn't even have yogurt when we arrived at the area at 9:30 a.m. on the last day of our stay on Monday morning.

All in all, therefore the room we had, along with the breakfast, fell far short of our expectations and this experience makes us very reluctant to stay at a Hampton Inn ever again. I say this even though we found the staff at the hotel very helpful who tried to help out with...
