I do not recommend staying at this Marriott. The rooms were okay, the first room was really dirty, grease all over the TV, cigarette burns on the carpet, bathroom tile was pretty disgusting as well. The second room was much better cleanliness wise. The last day at the hotel, I let the water run in the shower for about 20 minutes and the water never warmed up. The next issue I have is with the valet company Marriott uses at this location. They damaged my vehicle and have skirted even speaking to me including the hotel. I have called Marriott Corporate customer service which has sent numerous requests over to this hotel and I have not received one call back. Marriott keeps directing me to the valet company which does not provide any contact information. I found a number online for the company and I have called and left messages and no response to current. To make this experience more infuriating, I was in Baltimore for a work conference up the street for the week. I arrived on a Sunday night and checked out Friday morning. The valet only noted me as using the service for 2 days. Valet is saying the damage is not covered because I notified them of the damage the Saturday and I was only there 2 days. Which is not true because I was there using their services. It even proves it, in my vehicle app on my phone the car being started and moved at this location for the week. This damage happened to my rim in July. I called Marriott corporate 2 weeks ago requesting at a minimum if the company will not respond and the hotel will not respond, the least they could do is throw some points on my account. It is now almost the end of September, and I have not heard anything from the hotel, the valet company or Marriott referencing this complaint. Marriott keeps directing me to the valet company who does not respond. I advised Marriott as a customer, what am I supposed to do if the company you contract with will not speak to me the customer? The response is "You need to speak to that company" How? If no one has responded. To date no one has responded other than my claim was outside the window. Which I explained this issue in my complaint to Marriott multiple times. This is an integrity issue with Marriott of Baltimore and the valet company. If you stay here, I recommend one, check your room before unpacking, and two if you valet check your vehicle each time valet drives your vehicle. It is wrong that hotel management in Baltimore will not respond to the requests from Marriott corporate and the valet company allowing damage to occur, and I have to eat that cost on my own due to someone changing the dates I used the...
Read moreI did a lot of research to find a hotel near Inner Harbor, Baltimore and finally settled on the Residence Inn. I was traveling with my mom and wanted to have two bedrooms so we could have some space. We checked in on a Thursday and stayed until Monday. So first, the good things: The hotel is very close to the Inner Harbor, just a few minutes walk up Light Street and walking distance to many Baltimore attractions. There is a lot of renovation happening around the area but the hotel itself was fine. The front desk staff were always helpful and friendly, answering questions, giving suggestions and starting the day off with a smile. There is a hot breakfast included, mainly scrambled eggs, biscuits and oatmeal with a choice of toppings, as well as juice, cereal and bakery. It was plenty for starting off a day. The restaurant, where we went the first night, is "hotel-pricey" but the food was really good. Shrimp tacos, homemade steak fries, veggie burger, all great. Each bedroom had a TV and there was a third TV in the living area. The drapes were black out and really worked. Those rooms were dark, so sleeping was great. The cons: We had two bedrooms with the living area and kitchen in between. The couch here was pleather and tilted to the middle so was difficult to sit on. It had rips on the front of the cushions. There is a coffee pot in the room but it was stocked only with decaf coffee. No regular coffee and no tea. Each bedroom has a bathroom attached, one with a shower, the other with a tub. Mine had the shower and there was paint peeling off the ceiling above it. The vents were also very dirty, which meant when the air conditioning kicked on there were sometimes dust clouds spewing into the room. Instead of a towel rack, there were two plastic Command hooks hung, which was odd. There were also hooks that must have been next to the TV but one had ripped off. Not sure what they were for. Finally, and the thing that bothered me the most. On check in we were told there is no full cleaning service unless you call during specific hours to ask for it but you can call at any time for towels, coffee, etc. We were okay with no cleaning service but did need towels and coffee. I called down at least once a day to try to get these, was assured they would arrive and during our entire stay no one ever showed up. At one point we grabbed one coffee off the cleaning cart and asked that worker for towels, which she said she would drop off. And never did. For a base price of $299 a night, I would expect to at...
Read moreI have been to this hotel many times in the past and was extremely surprised at my experience. Let’s start with checking in; I checked in online early when notification was received through email and the Bonvoy app. I elected for the virtual key to skip the front desk. It said I will receive a notification once my room was ready and this never happened until I actually showed up to the hotel front desk. There was a line in the lobby of customers waiting to check in. The front desk attendant was gone over 25 minutes and when she returned she was not attentive. When it was finally my turn at the desk she started to check me in but then in the middle of that took time to converse with another employee for sometime while the lobby continued to grow with customers. I finally arrive to my room and several things: kitchen light was out, large burn marks in the carpet, hole in the back of chair which sits at the desk, top panel between counter and dishwasher was missing, dishwasher detergent was missing from the kitchen, water on the floor behind the toilet, and only 1 towel for 2 adults. This room was far below the Marriott brand standards and I was completely disappointed. I did not want to go back to that dreaded front desk as there were plenty of customers complaining about the condition of their rooms. I utilized the Bonvoy app to chat with front desk and make my requests known for the needed towels and for someone to come and fix the light. There was no response to my request and I was unable to get anyone to pick up the front desk phone. The following morning I attempted to contact the desk and after 12-15 rings a young lady finally answered. I explained my multiple requests that had gone unanswered and the extreme need for towels at this time. While she seemed very nice she proceeded to explain that she does not know how that app works and to call the front desk if I need anything. The towels were delivered within the hour. Later that day while my husband and I were attending a family wedding I received a message through the app regarding my request for towels and the broken kitchen light. They apologized for the delay and said someone would be up shortly to fix the issue. The light was still broken when we returned and nothing delivered in regards to additional towels. Our kitchen was dark the entire stay except during daylight hours. Overall the condition of the hotel was disappointing and you would never know this hotel had updates in the...
