Great location! Ceremony is my favorite coffee in Baltimore, and I love how this location is a little more accessible than the other downtown stores– as far as spaciousness and no stairs!
Service is usually quick, but even if there's a rush I don't mind waiting. My order(s) are simple: black americanos or nitro cold brew. Ceremony's decaf is REALLY GOOD!! I know know it's trendy to be "death before decaf," and sure, decaf often limits some of the achievable flavor profiles in a roast... but I love bringing home the beans to make at home. To be fair, I ALWAYS have fun playing around with their different roasts to see what flavors I can get while playing around with my pour over or chemex.
Try the seasonal drinks! They allow moderate substitutions for things like milk choice and sweetener level (when the recipe allows), but all seasonal drinks I've tried are created by Ceremony staff and really fun! My friends love them and I always enjoy a sip or two to appreciate the...
Read moreI was excited to try the coffee since it’s just around the corner and the shop looks nice and it well laid out. However the employees had absolutely no idea about the coffee they were serving. When I asked what kind of coffee they were brewing (ie origin or roast type) they answer I received was ‘pomegranate’. When I tried to clarify about what kind of coffee bean was being used, I was told pomegranate flavor and that Ceremony roasts their own beans so they couldn’t tell me anything about them. Usually a shop the advertises pour over coffee can atleast tell you if it’s a light, medium or dark roast. I tried the shop once before shortly after the location opened and chalked up the lack of knowledge to new staff and a new store working out the kinks. However I have now had a similar experience twice. Having waited through the entire CSM market renovation for a new coffee shop, this was extremely ...
Read morei was told ceremony was the best coffee in town and they were right about the quality but the atmosphere was peculiar during my 1st visit! great music and very friendly staff but i came in one morning maybe a week and a half two weeks ago and one of the employees(with strawberry blonde hair) was being really lovey dovey to another person they were sitting at the expresso station with. at first i thought maybe the person was a guest and not an employee since she had a computer, but she kept going behind the counter and talking to the other employees when she wasnt being romantic to the person she was sitting with. at some point i thought to myself, this is extremely unprofessional. outside of the awkward uncomfortable feeling it gave me. it wasnt a bad place. hopefully next time i visit it wont be as awkward. good note, the latte art on my drink...
