Review: I made a small purchase in Stater Brothers on 8/1/2025 and got home and looked at my receipt (I admit I should have examined my receipt before leaving the premises/store, and I did not) and discovered that the female cashier had mistakenly rang up one (1) medium sized banana at 2.25 lbs. @ $.69/lb. at a charge of $1.57. Not wanting to drive back to the store, I phoned the store at approximately 4:29 p.m. and was surprised that I was not only able to get someone on the phone, but when I asked if I could speak with the manager, I was told yes. The manager named Mr. Jerry Weaver came on the phone without delay and I explained to him about the charge for the banana and told him that the peaches I also purchased were not sweet. Mr Weaver told me to make a note on my receipt and let his staff know that I had spoken to him and his staff would make it right by giving me a refund on the banana charge and give me an opportunity to pick a better product from the fruit section. He told me I didn't have to rush back, but instead, just whenever I came back. I went in a few days later to get some fried chicken and some potato wedges and Hagen-dazs strawberry ice cream and the two cashiers I interacted with were very professional and happy to refund my money for the banana and let me take two plums and a nectarine in place of the peaches I had originally purchased. This is great customer service and I will never forget how easily this was taken care of especially since I am a black man. Thank you Mr. Weaver and thanks to The Stater Brothers company for having such professional and great management people working for you. I shop back and forth between Stater Brothers and Food 4 Less in the Barstow area. Thanks. I will always remember and will continue to always patronize your grocery store with no less frequency. I would recommend this...
Read moreLoads of handicap parking. 3 Power carts but if it's not available then any of the baggers will push the cart. Now the store is tight so no wild driving. Rarely are there any holes on the shelves. In last 4 years I have only come across one expired item, which compared to the other grocery stores V & W. Most of my positives don't apply to the V&W. Also Stater Bros was started as a mom & pop, however I am not sure how it's run now. They also carry just about everything in Organics. Lastly I have one serious issue. Long lines; they have fewer clerks, now they will open lines. Having worked as an express cashier eons ago, my recommendation is to be prepared for burst customers by having registers pre-counted, back up cashiers and keep them there until the rush is over. I have serious physical limitations and when I walk in and see the 3 lines open with the entire front walkway full of waiting customers; I walk out and head over to my...
Read moreI want to express my gratitude to Harry, one of the managers. He truly went out of his way to help me on one of the worst days I've had in a while. After shopping in the store I went out to find that my car wouldn't start. I left my brother with the car and took the things I knew wouldn't survive the heat and walked home with them. Unfortunately I didn't do well on the walk and by the time I made it home I was very near a heat stroke and knew I wasn't going to be able to walk back as I had planned. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager so I could let my brother know I was not able to walk back. Harry took an early break and brought my brother home and brought my groceries in. I haven't run into someone so thoughtful and kind in a very long time. It really reminded me that there are still caring people in the world. I will never forget his...
