I do not recommend using Springer's Jewels for jewelry repair. I took my grandmothers engagement ring for repair and was told it would be able to be picked up in a month. After a month went by and hearing no word back, I contacted the store to see if it was ready. I was told it somehow hadn't even been started on, but that they would begin working on it. I wasn't given a new estimated date of repair, so I called a few weeks later to get an update on the progress and was told they would not be able to repair the ring. They felt the ring was too delicate and would melt. They suggested melting it down to make another piece of jewelry. I am thankful they didn't attempt to fix the ring as it was my late grandmother's engagement ring and is very important to me. I took the ring to my hometown jeweler and they were confident they could repair and did so within 2 hours of bringing it in and at a cheaper cost than Springers quoted. I brought in to the Bath store a sterling silver chain and 7 silver charms to be added to the chain. I requested that the charms be attached and replace the rings if they could not use the existing sterling silver rings. I also asked that am bale remained on one very small charm which they cut off when I got it. They replaced all 7 rings at the cost of $180. I was surprised over the cost and was told I should have been told the price prior to their doing the work. I paid it, and my husband took it back into the store to double check and they said it was the cost. 7 tiny silver rings for charms seems way too expensive. I brought in a Figaro Silver necklace with a broken clasp. It belongs to someone very special to me, and the necklace is important to him, so I needed a professional to replace it, not just repair. I was greeted with respect and knew my concerns were being addressed. I am not particularly wealthy andI never felt out of place like I have at other jewelry shops. I am more than satisfied with the work they performed. I will never go anywhere else for my jewelry needs or purchases.
