Okay, so the food and the ambiance were both great, as was our lovely server!
We ordered dessert, were chatting happily, enjoying our drinks, and the check was brought for us to deal with at our leisure. We didn't make it a priority, as there was still cheesecake to eat and the restaurant seemed to not need our table for turnover, as it was only about 1/3 - 1/2 full.
The check was laying flat on the table. A busser came by, looked us in the eyes, grabbed it, and stood it up by slamming it on the table. I made an exclamation like, "Excuse me?" or something, but he was already walking away.
My friend was immediately anxious and mentioned that she thought he wanted us to pay the bill. I said I understood, but we hadn't finished eating/drinking and he was being rude. I refused to rush. We started in on the fried cheesecake.
A few minutes later, the same busser came by our table, paused to look us in the eyes, and pounded two half-filled bottled of soy sauce onto the table. I exclaimed, "Bruh!" at him as he walked away.
My friend was exceptionally anxious, and suggested we leave again, so we put her card in the thing and continued trying to enjoy the cheesecake.
The check came, we signed the tab, and then this dude walks up a THIRD time and throws someone *else's napkin on top of our cheesecake plate (which was not yet empty).
At this point, I said, "Nope, absolutely not!" I waved down our lovely server, who confided in us that this was not the first time he had done something like this, and that he made her feel really uncomfortable.
Then the owner comes out, and we tell him what happened. He makes a weak gesture at the check, my friend and I didn't know what to do, but we didn't want our server to miss her tip. Idk. So he sort of stopped mentioning that and said he had talked to the person and that "he is a really good worker... sometimes!" He said it was unacceptable and that if he did it again, he would be fired.
We got a free...

Read moreFirst off, this is overall more of a 3 and a half star instead of just three stars. The lunch buffet is definitely a three stars while the regular dinner menu is more of a four stars. This is our Thai restaurant in Baton Rouge. We aren’t very impressed with the Thai food restaurants in Baton Rouge, but Thai Kitchen is the best Thai restaurant in Baton Rouge. The pad kee mao is my favorite item - it is spicy and taste great. The Lad Na is okay (no picture), but the brown sauce needs some work. The spicy crab salad should be renamed as the spicy lecture salad with crab sprinkle on top - it is disappointing compared to the crab salad at Tsunami and Takumi, which are much better and cheaper as well. The spring roll was good but it is not the best in Baton Rouge. The lunch buffet is not good at all. It had little options and they didn’t taste good enough to repeat (sorry, no pictures). The decoration of the restaurant is nicely done - we always love the decoration on the table. Lastly, the happy hour menu used to have 50% off special rolls but now it is just $5 off - I am disappointed with that. In summary, we always come here for Thai food, but we don’t come very often compared to other restaurants...
