I pulled up and walked inside and went straight to the restroom to wash my hands. When I came out I went to the counter to order to go. After waiting for 10 minutes a man finally came around and asked me what I was doing. So I’m trying to place a to go order he says we’re closed inside you have to go get in your car and get in the drive-through. I am thinking to myself he’s kidding. So I laughed and he did not. I said oh you really were serious about going and getting in the drive-through. He repeated we are closed inside. So I walked in they were open and in that time of washing my hands they decided to be closed and that’s just not how it works. So in my opinion the service is terrible. I waited in the drive-through believe it or not for some girl to scream in the speaker “ hold on “ and I just ordered the po boy that I wanted and she told me to hold on she wasn’t ready for me . So to me these people do not want to take an order from me and I’m sure whoever has invested in this company would not be happy to know that this is happening. Being left with the desire to never go near the place again is not really the kind of feeling you want to leave people with lol.. Something needs to be addressed… Needless to say I left and I’m never going back. I never placed an order well I did but she wouldn’t put it in she was too busy telling me she...

I stopped in today after blindly driving for something to catch my eye. I just arrived in town for a 2 week stay, and this was the best find! Olivia at the window was so patient, I asked her for recommendations, and I took one of her suggestions and got the Roast Beef Po' Boy and a side of red beans and rice. In the few moments it took me to drive from the speaker to the window, Olivia was already circling items on a To Go menu for me to try later. She was so helpful and patient, without even being asked! Needless to say, she made an incredible first impression on this weary traveler, and the food was AMAZING. The red beans and rice was still STEAMING hot by the time I got it back to my hotel room. The roast beef po' boy was delicious and chunky and messy with lettuce and mayo and thick sweet tomato. The bread was soft enough to absorb it, but sturdy enough for me to still have to gnaw off each bite a little. Perfect!!

I'll be back, working my way through Olivia's suggestions. Great...

The employees at Off the Hook are a great crew. They were friendly, courteous and appreciative of customers patronizing the restaurant. I really enjoyed the food. I ordered the fried catfish and fried shrimp platter. On the platter were two nice sized catfish, plenty fried shrimp, French fries and hush puppies. The fish was fried to perfection and was well seasoned, I loved the batter on the shrimp, the seasoned fries were delicious and I was smitten with the kernel corn in the hush puppies. Off the Hook has the BEST red beans in Baton Rouge, yeah I said it! Please try the swamp fries, that's French fries topped with crawfish etoufee, the swamp fries are ADDICTIVE! The crawfish etoufee will give SAMMY'S and The Chimes a run for their money. Last but not least is that died and gone to Heaven fried bread pudding, that damn bread pudding make you slap yo' momma for real. Check out OFF THE HOOK because this jewel is really...

So my review is strictly based off my DoorDash order. I ordered the catfish strips and after few chicken strips along with a root beer. My DoorDash order came extremely fast and my food was still very hot. The fish was extremely good and did not taste fishy at all. I really enjoyed the fish and would order again. The chicken strips were average and nothing really special about these. The order came with fries and hushpuppies as well. I didn't eat the fries because they were soggy but I think all delivered fries are. (Not their fault) Now the hushpuppies were really good. I'm an extremely picky eater and love finding hushpuppies that don't have onions in the breading. These were strictly breading and corn which have it a nice sweet adder. Then washed it down with a Barqs root beer that was in a bottle. I would recommend this place and will order again next time I'm in town.

1.11.25 @ approximately 4 P.M. I came to this place for the very first time with my significant other. I ordered the half and half po-boy (shrimp/catfish). The bread was delicious and so was the dressing (mayo, lettuce, tomato). The catfish is based in mustard before it's coated. If you don't like mustard coatings on foods before it's fried, you will not enjoy the catfish. The fried shrimp was okay. It will not be a place that I would ever consider returning back to because it is TOO EXPENSIVE for the quality of food received. I could have dined in at a much better place had I known this. The chicken and sausage gumbo is alright. Their roast beef (my bf ordered that) was surprisingly good...but I only ate a few bites of the meat to check it out. All-in-all, this was a ONE-AND-DONE for me.
