On December 20th, 2023, I visited Lovisa Store at 575 Bellevue Square, Ste 258a, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States, for an ear piercing. Unfortunately, on January 17th, 2024, one of my left ear earrings fell off. Upon returning to the store, I was informed that the piercing had sealed and needed to be redone. To proceed, I had to purchase additional earrings. After obtaining a new pair, the store employee pierced two new holes in my left ear but did not return my original earring.
A month later, on March 3rd, 2024, my left ear, adorned with two earrings, became swollen and infected. Seeking a refund, I approached the store, but the manager, despite acknowledging the loose earring, refused citing store policy. Despite assurances of follow-up from their head office, no action was taken. As I had plans to travel to Toronto, I deferred further action but received no communication thereafter.
On March 8th, 2024, I revisited the store due to persistent discomfort. The same salesperson who had initially performed my piercing and sold me the additional earring mishandled the removal, causing significant pain and tearing my ear. When I expressed my discomfort, security was called, unjustly barring my entry. The matter was escalated to the local police, where I detailed the entire ordeal. The police expressed empathy, urging me to seek legal counsel and contest the restriction notice.
On April 6th, 2024, I sought medical consultation in Toronto regarding my discomfort. The following day, Clair Store at Toronto Eaton Centre professionally removed the left earring, shedding light on Lovisa Store's misconduct. The Clair store salesgirl also informed me of the infection in my left ear caused by the earring. On April 09, 2024, I visited urgent care clinic, where my ear infection was confirmed. I have been prescribed antibiotics for the treatment of the abscess and earlobe infection in my left ear due to the piercing. Additionally, I have been referred to an ENT specialist for further evaluation.
Lovisa Store's actions have inflicted harm on my health. Their refusal to apologize and their ban from Bellevue Square and its facilities are unjust. I demand the immediate lifting of this ban and seek justice to safeguard against further harm to customers. I strongly advise against patronizing this store due to their poor service. She’s super kind and relaxing and makes the whole process super smooth. She’s always clean and takes her time to make sure things are evenly placed and done to my liking. Shes an absolute gem and I would trust her with ANY of my piercings. She also followed up on my last piercing, just to make sure it was healing and I had no issues. I went to buy new studs to replace the ones I lost and get my ears repierced. The lady that did the piercing was new and pierced my ears with the wrong studs instead of the ones I picked out. That's fine, mistakes happen.
After I pointed out they were the wrong ones she went to get her manager. The manager came by and told me the ones I picked out were sold out, so I asked if I could refund or exchange them when they were back in stock.
