I have been attending GymClass workouts since the beginning of the pandemic when Shannon offered complimentary online workouts to the teachers of my district. This past year, I have attended her gym for in-person workouts and for the last 9 weeks have participated in her coaching program, Lift to Lose. I love the camaraderie of the women in her gym and the sense of inclusion and safety. We talk and laugh and the workouts fly by. Also, the classes are small enough that she will make sure you are doing the exercises safely.
Shanon’s Lift to Lose coaching program has been a game changer for me. I’ve learned so much about the importance of prepping food ahead and eating a variety of foods with protein. I love that she provides the meal plan for the week along with the recipes and shopping lists. The recipes are easy to follow and delicious. So far I’ve lost 12 pounds but, more importantly, I’m relieved that I have found a way to eat that I can manage with my busy schedule and not feel deprived. In addition, it’s not all about food and weight loss. During her coaching calls, Shannon focuses on weekly themes (e.g., sleep, mental health/changing negative messages, stress, movement, etc.). Read moreGymClass and Shannon are the community and person I never knew I needed in my life until life brought me to a path where I wasn’t quite sure where to turn! I have been on a health journey for many years and been part of many different communities in the health and fitness realm. When my life turned upside down, I gave up on me I gave up on caring about me. I needed help and didn’t quite know what to do or where to turn! When I chose to make a new commitment to me and chose to walk into 2023 with a better mindset, that’s when the cards fell into place! While life has been a storm for me these last 2 years, GymClass specifically Shannon was the calm in that storm! When I took a chance on me…and my health again! I had been able to do this journey on my own! But I needed more for me! I joined the 12 week program shortly after the new year. While losing a some physical weight would be great…what I ended up doing is losing the weight…emotional that is…in between my ears! I focused on my mindset…my morning routine…settling into this each and every day until it became second nature and something I missed when I didn’t stick to my routine! Let me tell you that Shannon provides the tools, the tough love, the kindness and compassion we all need! But you know what? I had to do the work…the hard…challenging…liberating work! Invested in me! And it’s the absolute best gift I could give myself…my health…my life! And it’s spilling into so many other aspects of my life! It’s not perfect far from it! Read moreWanted to give a shout out to the 12 week program I just completed with Shannon .. i know she is offering a new program moving forward which is going to be even better but wanted to share my great news! For the first time in a long time , I was excited to go to the doctor . I saw him just one week before I started the program to run all my tests …. Needless to say- I knew they were not going to be great but I wanted a true marker of where I started this journey . I went back on Monday of this week- so 3 ½ months later and was just amazed! 31 lbs gone which is amazing but even more importantly - my blood pressure was with in range, my cholesterol went from 189 to 128, my triglycerides went from 127 to 78, my ldl cholesterol went from 121 to 72 and my non hdl cholesterol went from 145 to 88….. I won’t need any medications and with continued excercise and weight loss they will only continue to get better! I am so proud of myself and I made an appt for 3 months from now to see my continued progress …. I also want to note- I didn’t do this by going to the gym . I don’t live close enough to take Shannon’s classes so I did this with walking, my own strength training and all the tools that Shannon Dechaine teaches in her weekly meetings . I know these are lifetime changes I can manage and can’t wait to see where I am 6...
