Great Clips — Local services in Bemidji

I go to Great Clips often and get my haircut. Mind you the haircut is only 15.00 a very a good price for a haircut. Im not gonna complain. I leave like 40-50$ everytime and buy shampoo sometimes. The last time I went there made me never ever want to go back. I was getting my haircut and the lady that cut my hair last time was cutting someones hair right next to me. The lady that was cutting my hair just showed up I think it was the manager. While she was cutting my hair another person walked in the door and she stopped cutting my hair and didn't say nothing to me. You're really gonna show up late and take someones customer and stop halfway through to check someone in? It didn't take long for her to get back but she continued cutting my hair. While I was getting my hair finished up the lady that cut my hair last time threw a piece of paper at my shoulder and the lady cutting my hair looked at her in disgust. I ignored it like a decent human being because honestly im one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Anyways that was over with and the haircut looked nice in the front even though she didn't line me up at all. The clippers also looked dirty. I got done and left 50 on the counter. I do this because im a server myself so I live off tips. I left and sai "Thank you, have a good day" as I normally would. Once I got home my girlfriend complimented my haircut right away but she noticed a big bald spot on the back of my head. Like im trying to look good for work not look like I got mange. Consistently good haircuts and very friendly, personable staff. It's nice Great Clips keeps your information on file regarding how you prefer to have your hair cut - I've never been disappointed with the end result from this location.

Gone are the "good ol' days" of being able to just walk-in for an immediate haircut as this location has been understaffed for some time now and the wait times have gotten quite long. I've resorted doing walk-in haircuts as the Great Clips website/app won't let you check in once the wait is past 1-1/2(?) hours.

Today I arrived before posted opening hours to get a haircut. I couldn't shake the person I was on the phone with and didn't want to be rude while checking in, so I continued my conversation in the front of Marketplace Foods. The manager on duty noticed I was there for a haircut but couldn't get "on the list" due to my phone call. She observed a large group of people heading towards Great Clips and discreetly approached me to get my phone number so I would not lose my spot. I have been here several times over the years. They are typically very busy so online check in is a must. But... I am NEVER coming back here. Worst experience with Great Clips, period. Check in timer is inaccurate, a 120 minute wait turned into a 150 minute wait. You're expected to accommodate their misrepresentation of the time, but when you arrive 5 minutes late, your name is taken off the list. I waited 2.5 hours only for my name to be take off the list before I arrived. All but one stylist were nice about it, explaining that names are taken off if you're late. It sucks but it's understandable. No accomodations were made for me and the only solution proposed was for me to wait another two hours. No thanks. The kicker is one employee heckling me with a "you should've showed up on time" as I was speaking to the girl at the counter.
