I remembered why I don't shop here. Not only are prices higher here than Menards or Fleet, but the staff, ugh. I am just tired of being ignored by staff that just doesn't listen! I went in to buy a hot water heater, because mine was leaking. A pretty serious issue and I needed an immediate replacement. They only had 2 in the store. I specifically told the guy I had natural gas, I never said the word propane, but the one we looked at when we were discussing my needs he asked me "do you have electric or gas?" I said Natural gas, he apparently didn't listen. I said I liked the one we were looking at because of a specific feature and asked if it was the type I needed and he said, yes it was for gas. He then said it would be delivered and put in the next day. I did the paperwork and waited. At noon the next day I called to ask where it was? They didn't know. Finally the plumber called and asked if he could do it next week? I told him no. I would be out of town. But he was sick. I told him I was told it would be in today. He showed up at 3PM with a propane hot water heater. I was NOT happy. By 4PM I was livid, had been back to Home Depot had fixed their mistake, had to trade down to a different heater that did not have the feature I wanted, and had to wait until 6 PM to have this complaining whinny plumber put in the heater. Guess I should be happy I have hot water, while millions of people on the planet don't have clean...
Read moreOrdered a pressure washer, which was delivered damaged. Ordered a second pressure washer, which came missing parts. Customer service made me call manufacturer and have them ship to me. [that part is the online store…I get it]
Because I needed a pressure washer for a specific job and I live an hour away, I went into the store and purchased a different brand as a backup in case the parts didn’t arrive in time. (Parts did arrive in time) After the job was done, I went into to return unopened backup pressure washer. Was informed that it couldn’t be put back on my card, since it had been more than one week. The young guy at the counter was as helpful and polite, trying to put it back on my card. Unfortunately, Courtney, the manager, came up and displayed for him how to be rude and sarcastic to customers. “Store credit or you can keep it. Most people read the policies, which are on our website, before making large purchases”, she said to me in a snotty teenage tone. “You spend a lot of money here, you can use the store credit.”
It’s fine with doing the store credit thing if that’s the limitations of your company, but it’s not okay to be rude and sarcastic about it. If you’re wondering why the staff at the customer service counter are rude to you, I bet I know who...
Read moreI used to be a die hard super faithful Home Depot Customer. Drove an hour and a half to them instead of 30 minutes to Menards.. unfortunately customer service has gone downhill.. Now when you purchase an appliance, they worry more about selling you the full set instead of informing you of anything you may need for that new appliance (I.E. power cord, etc) and if you order online, then try to cancel within 5 days, their vendors say the item (s) have already been shipped. (Which btw, it shows on the website, right?) So now I was advised to refuse delivery (which was delayed 3 times) and then I can get my refund. When they just recently took the payment.. after I tried to cancel twice. I had to give 1 star as a review just to write this, but I would honestly give 0. I'm very disappointed in how Customer Service is changing.. so I guess it's actual appliance stores and lumber yards for me from now...
