The people who work here were extremely nice, however the communication was terrible!! I was having an issue with my computer and took it here because it was extremely close to my college and I was told that I would have my computer back within 2-3 days. After those 3 days passed with no word on my computer I had to call and see what was going on. Unfortunately there was an apparent issue with the part that was ordered. I said that I was thinking about taking it to the apple store to see if I could have better luck there but the people at Quadstar told me that it would take longer if I took it there so I decided not to take it to the apple store and just to wait it out. They told me I would have my computer by Monday (and I called on Friday) so I decided I would just wait the weekend out. Monday rolled around with still no word on the computer. I called yet again and the part was still not ordered or something. Now I understand that if there was an issue with apple themselves not sending the part out yet Quadstar cannot control it, however, I was told multiple times that I would for sure have my computer back within a few days. If there is a problem with the order then the people should not have talked me out of fixing the problem another way by making promises they could not uphold. I understand that you want business, but it is extremely frustrating to be promised something that was not able to happens Dane I now have to wait even longer than anticipated. I left my computer with Quadstar for an entire week with absolutely nothing fixed and finically I had enough and took it to the apple store. If I would have just done that in the first place I would likely have my computer back by now but I trusted the people I talked to in their promises to have my computer back to me. I have been without my computer for a week and now will have to wait even longer because nothing was fixed. I apologize for leaving this review, but I am extremely frustrated with...
Read moreExcellent Service! I came to QuadStar with my 2016 MacBook Pro. Like many of this particular model MacBook, it became a victim of Flexgate and my screen was rendered inoperable. In the past, I've just gone to the Genius Bar, and I've gone directly to Apple with my MacBook issues. However, during coronavirus, apparently an appointment is necessary before you can even walk through their doors. 2 years ago, all I had to do was walk in... I went in for a battery replacement because this MacBook was also under a battery recall back in 2018. I was without my MacBook for what seemed like an eternity. (it was well over a week if memory serves me right) It was shipped out to an Apple repair center (not sure where), and then shipped to me at home.
After being turned away at the Apple store, I went home and started the process online of making an appointment. Apple's website pointed me in the direction of several authorized service providers in the area, and I landed on QuadStar, who also happened to have the earliest appointment available. QuadStar handled it all. My device went in on Thursday, and it was done by Tuesday of the following week. I was only without my device for 5 days, and I believe the work was done in house by their technicians. My screen is back to fully operational, and Apple covered the work, as it fell under their repair program. The process was simple, quick, and I am fully satisfied. I...
Read moreI came to QuadStar for the first time last week, lugging in my homebuilt desktop. It absolutely would not boot nor would it allow me access to any of the standard avenues for getting into safe mode. I wasn't worried, because I had an external hard drive backing everything up--except no device I had access to could recognize or access it. I hauled everything in to Quadstar simply because it was the closest place to my home. Once there, I was greeted by Logan. He is friendly, patient, and willing to explain each step of what he was doing to a novice like myself. He enjoys his work and is happy to share his knowledge. He sorted out my main computer, readjusted my monitor so it would display correctly, and diagnosed my external hard drive as completely shot. Whether the hard drive crashed the computer or the computer crashed the hard drive, or both at once could not be determined. But he explained the vagaries of external storage, including what FileHistory could and could not perform. For a very reasonable price he recommended and set up a true exterior backup drive that performs real cloning of all stored files. He is also attempting to recover the data from the fried external drive. It is a real joy to have found such a place close to my home and I will be giving them all my business from now on--although I hope it will be at least a little while before I...
