Front St Social — Restaurant in Berea

Stopped for lunch and when I walked in the bar patrons all stared at me but the bartender and who I assume was the owner took a few minutes to notice me. I was asked if I was part of the social networking meetup. A social networking meetup... great way to spread COVID if you ask me. They had a cold brew Nitro coffee on special, which was being poured from a normal tap, not the nitro one, which gave it an odd carbonation and none of the silky texture you’d want from a nitro. I ordered my sandwich and watched as the cook tore himself away from his phone to look at the chit ticket and then dropped his head in misery. Then this group started to show up. I watched at least three people walk in without wearing masks, I saw two men get up from their seats and wander around without masks. There was no social distancing being enforced at all. By the time my food came there were over 20 people from this group. I asked for a box and paid my tab. While I was waiting to cash out another woman, not wearing a mask, walked in and bellied up to the bar just a couple feet away from me. I’m appalled. Thought I’d try somewhere new, what a terrible mistake.

The reason I mentioned the chef is because he was in plain view of my seat and was actively engaged on his phone which is very unprofessional, also his response to seeing my ticket made me feel even more unwelcome and uncomfortable.

I also do not appreciate having your staff contact my employer over this review!!! Stalking me won’t change the bad experience I had there and now I will certainly...

There is a lot that can be said about Front St Social! It is under new management, has a new Chef, and a new menu, and all are fantastic! They offer happy hour items, unique cocktail options and the food is excellent. We ordered garlic Parmesan wings, and they were tender, flavorful yet crispy on the outside, and the mushroom flatbread was unique and flavorful as well as the Black and Bleu burger , which was INSANELY delicious. For those who claim to make great burgers at home…this is where you go for an upscale, ridiculously juicy version of a fresh, made-to-order burger! I had a Cranberry Mule cocktail.. it was fun, seasonal and there are other options as well. We are great cooks at home, so I am very picky if we do go out to eat, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else in Berea...

This place is beyond amazing and the service is beyond incredible! The experience I had is certainly one that I will never forget ~ my bartender Avri, was extremely attentive, quick, friendly, and on top of all that, she was empathetic beyond basic understanding… Not to mention an amazing bartender...

This month I’ve lost my father, sister, two best friends, and a student to many traumatic deaths and Avri took the time to see that I was not okay and she not only spoke with me but made me feel comfortable and for the first time, in such a long time, made me feel truly happy. Her presence alone, changes the atmosphere but her smile and gentle tone helped make what felt like a never-ending nightmare, disappear. Even if only for a moment. I am beyond grateful and...
