I have been collecting religious item from friends and neighbors for several years so I can periodically donate them to Tilma. Always has been a good experience up until I visited last week. At that time a not too friendly gentleman informed me that I needed to make an appointment to bring donations or come at specific times on Monday/Tuesday mornings. I suggested if that is the case, please share that on the Tilma website. Also, he seemed reluctant to take the 100 or so items I had brought (rosaries, statues, medals, prayer cards, etc.) saying that most of the items would have to go to the missions in the Phillipines. This remark deeply affected her, particularly because many of her clothes no longer fit due to her pregnancy.
Tilma is a beautiful store that sells goods to help people grow closer to Christ and our Holy Mother Church. It seems unnecessary for employees to police customers...
