The doctors are okay I guess, but their merits are utterly overshadowed by the abysmal scheduling and policies related to it.
After "missing" a supposedly scheduled appointment that we did not receive notifications for, we got a nasty letter in the mail and were charged for the missed appointment.
When we attempted to make up the missed appointment, their next opening was a few weeks out which was fine. However, when I tried to get to the facility for the appointment, I pulled up on time only to find that there is construction blocking off the route from Route 66 to the parking garage, and the only way to get there was to go all the way back to the main street, adding more than 5 minutes. The direct entrance to the pediatric clinic is also closed for this same construction, adding another few minutes in walking around.
When I FINALLY made it to the desk and checked in, they told me that the doctor might not be able to see me because the CHADIS questionnaire hadn't been completed... the 9 month questionnaire WAS completed, and my child is too young for the 12 month questionnaire to apply. The receptionist had to call back to the doctor to see if they could see me without the 12 month questionnaire being done even though my child does not turn 1 for more than a month.
They asked if I really needed to see the doctor today? I expressed concern regarding my daughter's vaccine schedule and was brushed off and told that if that was my only concern, the doctor would see her after 1 year. Because I was now 15 minutes late (thanks to standing there waiting for this decision) and her appointment was halfway over, it was being canceled and they'll see me in 2 months.
I don't know if she's going to be behind on her vaccines now or not, and if this changes what to expect at her next appointment. At this rate, I'm also expecting they'll try to charge me AGAIN for an appointment I did not receive.
If you're considering this facility for pediatric care,...
Read moreIt has been nearly two years since my wife applied to the Childrenâs Center for a greeter position posted online by the Bethany Childrenâs Health Center. We have always heard that they do good things for children with serious medical conditions, and we just assumed they must be a great place to work as well. The job was for a greeter type person, and the pay was not great, but with some benefits and the location being so close (5 minutes) to our residence, we thought it would be a good fit. Lily, is originally from Mexico and has a Bachelorâs in international relations degree from the University of Mexico. Also, she speaks Spanish and English fluently. Also, she is proficient in Japanese, Portuguese, French, and Italian at the time of her interview, Lily was working as a contract interpreter for medical, legal, e, and several more disciplines. To my knowledge, it was suggested at the thirst interview that they may have a later need for an interpreter, minimal discussion was of the present position opening. A follow and she did not receive a second interview or follow-up explanation. I canât say for sure, but this lack of interest in Lily and the Centerâs failure to follow up smells of a decision based on race. I am curious about how many non-whites they employ outside of their maintenance, cleaning, and kitchen staff. My wife, did find a job with the County shortly after that unusual interview and has been employed appreciated for her skill. PS: I noticed the Children's Center always replies to favorable feedback but fails to reply when the reviews are not...
Read moreThe children's Rehabilitation Hospital was an awesome Sanctuary for us when we first found out our son has cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a rare genetic mutation. We have seen dr. Brannon for almost 5 years now and We just got discharged for being 2 MINUTES LATE to our appointment time!! I understand appointment times are important and policies are important but seriously?!!???? It is a little challenging to put a special needs child in and out of a car seat, in and out of the wheelchair, transporting from outside to inside the building to the 2nd floor... (plus I have 2 more small children.) I feel like the staff could have been a little more understanding of those 2 minutes. I had even called ahead because I knew it would be a close call ( But The older receptionist they have for his office is always so rude and seems like she hates her job since she's so bitter. ) & unfortunately she couldn't check him in even though we were in the parking garage. ...Nonetheless we got up to the 2nd floor and it was 2 minutes past cut off.... so we were discharged after 5 years , I left in tears because I feel like that was unnecessary and uncalled for.... but they don't care. I just don't see what 2 minutes would have done, we spend 15 minutes in the waiting room anyways!! đ đ 20 minutes waiting for the nurse to come in and another 15 minutes for dr. To come in but whatever!!! There are plenty more facilities. And many many more doctors. This is...
