I am overseas and I decided to offer them for sale as Customs fees in the country in which I presently reside were quoted at 60% of market value.

When my wife and I decided to donate a beautifully realized painting by Tom Wudl to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, we began a learning experience for both of us. It did not surprise me that we needed an appraisal from a certified appraiser to support a tax deduction for the donation. But the process of dealing with the Museum and finding an appraiser was completely unknown to us--we are certainly not major art collectors, and our donations are more Goodwill than Art Museum. I have a few high value art pieces, which I needed to get on insurance. After a lot of back and forth with Insurance as to credentials needed, report contents, etc. I was nervous about who I used since reports are not cheap. Luckily I found Dina and very quickly thought she was going to be perfect for this. I was right. She was super quick at finding a time to come by for the appraisals. Very respectful of my personal "covid protocols" and worked with me ahead of time to get information prepared to make everything quick and efficient. Reports came quickly and Insurance didn't say a peep, everything got squared away and accepted.

Bonus, she gave me great direction on how they were currently framed and suggestions on where to go if wanted to make the changes (which I am going to do). She really cared about not only the art, but me as a collector who is...
