the owners are terrible!
They came to my table saying I couldnโt eat my food I brought from home, I have a gluten and Celiac disease.
I wanted to contribute with 3 of my coworkers that asked me to have lunch with them. We sat at the table and and I was about to begin eating my own food when this lady (owner) came to our table and began demanding I put my food away, she was not professional and was not using a calm and collected tone. She said I was robbing business from her, even though THREE of my coworkers were eating the restaurants food, and I was the only one eating my own food (again because of my disease). She said continued ranting and lecturing me saying I was disrespectful and canโt eat that at all, and saying what am I even thinking doing this at her restaurant, not even giving me a chance to explain why I brought my own food.
She continues to lecture me in front of the whole restaurant while increasing her voice at me and widening her eyes. One of my coworkers intervened and told her I wasnโt a child and did not have to speak down on me, especially for my food when 3 of them were eatingโฆ..
She proceed to argue back with my coworker now and ultimately I sat there empty handed for a hour staring at my coworkers eat there meal, so that I wouldnโt ruin there lunch too.
I will NEVER be eating/attending here, EVER.
I will be telling ALL my coworkers here at CEDARS to not eat here. If only I have recorded the interaction. She is lucky we didnโt walk out empty handed and ate at another restaurant literally across the street.
Thanks.
Edit: I see she responded to my review but she is lying and trying to cover up her mess up. Yes the waiter explained to us but I was also not going to sit there and not eat and watch my coworkers eat for an hour, which I ended up doing anyways. I didnโt rob her business, even though we couldโve easily walked out and ate somewhere else, I let my coworkers eat while I suffered watching them, wasting my own lunch because of my diseases. Like I said. If only I recorded the...
ย ย ย Read moreAbsolutely perfect. My new favorite Italian restaurant.
First, this place is happy casual with a side of LA chic. The service was helpful and attentive. No pushy wine sales. In fact our waiter was always on point without a delay. We paid about 25 per person including dessert, a bargain.
The meat lasagna was a well balanced mix of noodle, meat and cheese. The meat sauce was robust with a little twang that made it even more interesting.
But the ravioli was better!
My dinner companion favored the lasagna, but he's not writing this review so there's that. And what does he know about good ravioli? ๐
I last enjoyed raviolis that were smooth and lacked texture but still had some interesting innards. These were not that. The noodle alone was textured with that slight stickiness we get by accident at home on maybe 1 in 10 raviolis. Every bite of this plate was perfect. And these had chicken with ricotta and sauce that was honestly and simply worthy of all my accolades. I do not remember ever eating a better ravioli.
Ok so I'm often impressed with food that is good but Cafe Angelino has become a destination of its own, well worthy of another trip from Vegas to share with friends.
Kudos...
ย ย ย Read moreI've been going to this restaurant since I was a student, and it was one of my favorites. I went there for the first time in a while after the COVID-19 pandemic. I was really looking forward to it. This day was my husband's birthday, so I asked for a good seat when I made the reservation, but when I got there, I was surprised to see that even though I had made a reservation, the seat had not been reserved and we were told to sit wherever we wanted. Incidentally, the seats that were available were in strong sunlight.
My husband ordered the shrimp pasta and seafood risotto and an appetizer from the today's specials.
Then, when I went to pay the bill, I was billed an amount that was insanely high, and I thought it must be a mistake. This is an Italian cafe, not a high-end restaurant, so I already knew what the normal price was.
When I asked my husband if the price was the same as the menu price, he said that the price was not listed on the menu. The restaurant staff should have asked me about the price. I was shocked that a restaurant I had loved for many years was treating me like this, and many memories have been ruined.
Waiters should clearly tell customers the price....
