I'm leaving this review as a regular at the spa and having eaten a few times at their restaurants, but not having stayed in the rooms.
Overall this is a good place, but there are some issues with management. The staff are great and bring a very high quality of service. The masseuses, including Annie and Yao, are amazing. Plant Food And Wine is a good restaurant on the spa level with healthy vegan cuisine (by the chef Matthew of Bad Vegan fame, but he was the good guy in the doc) and great service from Kevin.
I was disappointed at my most recent visit as they suddenly decided I couldn't access the pool and hot tub area anymore as a spa guest (oh, unless I agreed to be upsold on services I don't want that are only catered towards girly girls - manicure or facial packages). They also changed their service in terms of how they let you navigate around the building, because I was told to go over to this hidden elevator by the lower restaurant and they no longer walk you over, even though I couldn't find it at first. It's upsetting to be downgraded and treated like a second class citizen just for not paying more than the monthly ~$300 I've been spending here for self care. You only notice how mediocre the spa is after they cut the outdoor area access because they blast upbeat music, even in the sauna, making it impossible to relax, which is the whole purpose for going. It's also too crowded now and you have to stand there waiting for a shower after getting out of a hot steam room. There is nowhere to lie down. The only seating area inside is in a hallway where people have to constantly walk by you. I felt like I was on the train, still part of the intense urban energy. Definitely not a sanctuary.
Compare this to other Four Seasons spas like the one in Vegas, or abroad, where they don't try to nickel and dime you like L.A. loves to do. It makes you feel like trash there, like you don't belong, but then why take our money and grant any non-guests access in the first place?
The downstairs restaurant isn't great either. They tried to charge me an absurd "Market Price" for a steak with nothing accompanying it, literally an a la carte steak for what was I believe over $100 without mentioning the actual price first, though I think they may have reversed that charge later, I didn't keep checking back. The area is loud from traffic outside.
You just generally get that snobby Beverly Hills vibe like you're in Pretty Woman. The staff are nice, but what they call their "Executive Committee" makes some odd business decisions while expecting people to keep paying the same amount for fewer services. It felt like when Republicans in Congress suddenly cut my unemployment insurance in 2014. Like some other reviews mentioned, not a lot of empathy, and it's hard to relax when everything keeps changing.
The staff were on strike at this hotel in mid-2023, meaning they're not being treated fairly. And they do a great job. They just need their overlords to stop messing things up for them and have fair labor practices and pay.
It takes more money to obtain a new customer than to keep an existing one, and locals will be more loyal than a tourist who only comes out once in a lifetime or on occasional business. If you don't want us there, just don't allow locals anymore. In the meantime, there's a lot of competition on...

I'm one of those people that normally picks cheap hotels, or a friends couch, since I'll just normally be sleeping there, so this was a little out of my element. We went the straight from the airport after traveling for 12 hours, so I felt ungodly out of place in jeans and a sweater and again after traveling 12 hours, I just wanted a shower and a nap. I never once felt looked down on and there was no pretentiousness like I assumed there would be being in a swanky Beverly Hills hotel. It was great. We were a little before check in time, and Jasmin still took care of us. In fact she was incredibly awesome! 2 hours later we got a knock on our door and housekeeping had a gorgeous cake and a handwritten note (from Jasmin, the front desk lady) wishing me a happy belated birthday (a week and a half prior). And OMG it was the best dessert I've ever had in my life! So service, is beyond impeccable. The staff at the bar were we got a pizza and drinks from we're super nice too.
The room is amazing! Marble bathroom with a huge glass shower and a separate tub as well. The king bed was in a separate room with double doors, and we had a love seat, 2 chairs and an ottoman in the living room area with a mini bar. We also had a small balcony looking out at downtown LA and the Hollywood sign. And the bed was amazingly comfortable. Fluffy pillows, prefect comforter. The lights are all on slides, so no switches. One side of the bed had a surge protector like thing for outlets, but there wasn't one on the other side. Seriously only complaint.
On the 4th floor is a fitness center, a spa, and through the spa is the rooftop pool and to the left of that is a little restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. In the lobby is Windows, which is open late and has a little of everything, including cigars for sale, and a patio outside. Through that, or a separate entrance in the corner of the drive way is Culina, and is a nice Italian style restaurant, but it's closed in the afternoons from around 2-6. Both have separate Yelp listings as well.
The doorman is always present and in a good mood. The valets are quick and courteous and will always open the door for you if they're not swamped. If you have an upgraded suite room, you can use a car from the hotel for the day! If you're just in the basic room, they have a house car (a Rolls Royce!) that you can get from the valets that will drive you in a 3 mile radius, or they will call and set up a taxi for you as well!
So it's a little pricier, but it's so worth it! The staff is all courteous and awesome, and not pretensious at all! I was pleasantly surprised. And you'll see people from all walks of life, and you may get lucky enough to get a star sighting every now and then. The ONLY downside of this place, is the wifi is super lacking and super slow. If you go out on the balcony you'll lose it. Seriously,...

Included a breakfast package for the stay at the Culina restaurant, but the service and food was very ordinary and plain and not the food you would expect at a Four Seasons. The coffee was cold. The waiters kept asking every few minutes about how the food was, which became annoying after a period. Also, the house car was only available on the weekends and was fully booked, while we were expecting it to be available given the information on the website. Also, a Rolls-Royce was not available, which are amenities you are paying for and would enjoy. When interacting with the valet, they did not even provide other solutions, since the house car was not avaliable. We booked 2 suite rooms, but upon entrance the safe-box, lighted mirror, and faucet drainage system were dysfunctional. However, they were prompt in fixing, but one does not expect such problems upon entry into the room. Furthermore, upon day of departure we booked a transportation service to the airport with the concierge, but the transportation never showed up and was informed very late that there are non available, even though we booked it a day before. Also, the lobby of the hotel is underwhelming, as there is not much seating areas. Also, there were no amenities such as coffee, drinks, or snacks which were provided at the Ritz-Carlton. The rooms seemed renovated, but the bathrooms and lobby were very dated. As a usual Ritz-Carlton customer, the Four-Season experience was not up to par with its standard and the Ritz-Carlton, given this hotel is 5-star and has numerous awards. Lastly, it was not worth the $900+ / per night / room and recommend to stay at other properties such as the Beverly Hills Hotel. The hotels location is not as good as the Wilshire or Waldorf Astoria. It takes about a 25 min walk to Rodeo Drive and the hotel is hidden a bit in a residential area with not much action. Lastly, there was no personal experience, hospitality, or even warming interactions with the employees that one would expect at a 5 star Hotel. Was not pleased at all and will not be staying here again. Lastly, the staff took very long on our orders, over an hour, for amenity kits and special pillows that were available...
