I don't like giving negative reviews, but honestly, one star is gracious. I was so happy to find the wig fairy and grateful for the realistic beautiful wigs they offer. Customer service from Mona (the owner) was initially great, the rest of her staff is seriously lacking, and they do not care about ANY customer unless you are literally famous - in that case, they drop everything, including their everyday customers (like us) that travel and have an appointment. I referred friends that traveled to California to get a wig; also, they were also very unimpressed with the staff there because when they showed up for their appointment that they made weeks in advance, they were told that a high profile client was coming in and to come back and their wig would be ready in a day or two. They made the appointment to pick it up and were leaving the next day- it's seriously rude. This business has great potential. It's a beautiful facility with gorgeous wigs - sadly, the wigs do not last more than months, and the customer service ruins it. Let me explain.
Mona got us a wonderful wig that WAS beautiful. In our consultation with her, she said it would last two years or so. My daughter needs a cranial prosthesis. I wanted to buy two wigs because she's very active and plays multiple sports, and from experience, I know it is essential to have a backup. It is also nice to have an extra wig to swap out for washing time etc. She received her first wig from the Wig Fairy in Feb. of last year; after I knew it was a good fit and she loved it, I tried to order another one of the same wigs. They told Covid caused shipping and manufacturing delays. I followed up every few weeks. I repeatedly sent them the info on the wig we had, and their response was always something to the extent of "we are waiting to hear from our vendor" I have never tried so hard to spend a couple of grand on anything. They did have her try some other styles, like one that she would have to wear a hat with and one with bangs, but I was not interested in spending just under 2k on a product that was so limited, and she was not fond of bangs on her. Long story short, in August (yes, six months later), I texted again expressing my frustration that a special order was nowhere in sight, and their response was "to look for another vendor that might have a faster turnaround time."
Overall the wig fairy is a disastrous company that cannot keep up with their demand, overpromises on the life and quality of their products, and to top it all off, will kick you to the curb if someone with more fame shows up.
My daughters' wig (light brown/blond) faded quickly and needed to be dyed every 45 days or so. It did NOT hold color. It also lost so much hair on top that after 7 months, it became literally unwearable. The top 3 inches are pretty much bare. We cared for and washed this wig according to the directions on their website.
** In response to the Wig Fairy's response. I tried to buy two wigs before I knew the poor quality of your product. What kind of professional wig shop cannot provide 2 of the same product? I highly recommend Milano Wigs for anyone looking for a superior product at a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you have hair that is naturally darker or textured/curly hair, this might not be the place for you. I am 20 and have been experiencing hair loss for a few years. When I went in to try on wigs, they didnāt have any options that were darker than a medium brown; if I bought a wig, they said they could dye it closer to my natural color, but I would prefer to have one that is naturally my color over a dyed wig. The other thing is my hair is a bit wavy, not necessarily curly; it just has a bit of texture, and they had maybe one or two options, which were almost borderline straight, but I think they said they could custom order it, but even then they didn't have many texture options. Adding on to that, each wig was about $2,000 to $3,000+; a lot of wig places are pretty expensive, which I get, but some of the quality of wigs were exactly the same as the ones at His and Hers Wigs on Wilshire in LA so that wasnāt really sitting right with me. I mean, if they were the quality of Shani wigs in Brooklyn, NY, then I would say hers are worth it because her work is stunning( the price is not, though š hers are like $7500-$9,000+), but for how they look and feel at the Wig Fairy, I suggest checking out the other place because I was able to find wigs that are the same quality+ they have all types of textures+ colors at the other place for $300-$500 and they do customer fittings as well in private rooms for people who want more discretion about their hair needs and concerns which was nice. The people who work at the Wig Fairy are very friendly and actually gave me the suggestion for the other place ( his and hers), which was very kind of them plus the wig fairy is located in a very nice area but unless you want a blonde or light to medium brown wig with no texture then this is probably not the place for you it also has open flooring which might be uncomfortable for people who prefer discretion considering how vulnerable hair loss can make someone feel. The other place does a bit less comprehensive try-on/ fitting unless you ask in advance, and it had less staff to give you that hands-on experience, but they have way better prices and variety. Also, bring cash; the validated parking doesn't cover more than 30 min or something like that, and the valet guy will charge you more if you use a card, just a fyi. I have been to quite a few wig places as I've dealt with this issue for a while, and this is just what I noticed and my experience; I hope this helps for people who want a darker or textured wig š«¶ wishing you the best of luck on your hair journey!
Side note: I think they accept wigs from other places to help you style, cut, and wash to your liking, so that might be helpful to some people looking for that service on a wig from...
