WORST experience EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So we only have ONE birthday a year and want it to be special... So I chose this place for my birthday dinner/party since one of my friends had her birthday brunch there and loved the view. Maybe brunch and dinner service is different but my experience was horrible.
As soon as me and my couple friends sat down our waitress was snotty and had an attitude. Not sure why, because we were very friendly and excited to be there. The more of my friends came and joined the more the staff became unfriendly, maybe because most of my friends are african american??????? Not sure because I am white...
Anyhow, so after we were all complete, about 15 people ordering food and drinks (maybe this place doesn't care about revenue) one of my friends asked one of the wait staff about his order that he put in at least 15-20 min ago.. the waiters reply was: "uhm, no sir, it was not 20min ago".... So naturally my friend was shocked and quiet friendly unsatisfied that the waiter even had the nerve to reply back not only w a rude attitude but even to argue over the time.... what happened to the "guest is always right"... even if it wasn't 20 min, the waiter should have just replied: "I am sorry sir, let me go check on your order right away"... and from then on it just escalated... the waiter literally started an argument with my friend and of course my friend argued back... then the waiter came back with a security guard and basically threw my friend out this place!!!!!!!!!! R you kidding me????? Its my birthday and these people just ruined everyones time because after this entire scenario nobody wanted to stay.
15 people w food and drinks had their night ruined because one staff member didn't understand that part of his job is to please his customers... not to mention the other waitress with her horrible attitude towards all of us.
Now let me talk about the food... OMG, have they ever heard about salt and pepper??? Do NOT order the potato soup, you might as well order baby food. GROSS, no seasoning and just awful. Same with the Club sandwich... no seasoning on the chicken what soever.
Not sure if the brunch is better but the dinner was not good. And we didn't even complain about it but tried to make the best out of this situation!!!!!!!!!! NEVER AGAIN.
The only good thing is the view but I can just go to the Downtown Standard or the Sky bar and get better food, service and a...
Read moreUpon arrival , I was greeted by a very mannered host as she sat me while I waited for my colleague . I sat for about 20 minutes before I had to interrupt the conversation a waiter was having while I sat with not even a cup of water. He spoke French and was very sarcastic and quickly gave my my drinks after I brought it to his attention he then introduced me to my waiter whom had blonde hair. After my colleague arrived we sat and ate and he came and reintroduced the waiter who was speaking French and explained he was going to be taking over. We decided to go down and take a picture by the area that has a fireplace (which I have done plenty of times ). The waiter who spoke French followed us and demanded we paid. When we explained that we didn’t want to close out he insisted we had to start a new tab if we wanted and was very rude about it.
We then went to the bar and asked the waitress with the blonde hair for the manager he explained the manager was gone. I asked for our waitresses name because I was going to just write a review and then the French speaking waitress told us his name was “Jennifer “. He then followed by telling us to “get out.” After explaining we had did nothing wrong he then continued to tell us to get out and referred to as us “animals “walking by speaking loudly and taunting causing a scene. He tried to call security , stating we didn’t pay the tab, which was incorrect because he forced us to pay and “close out” while we were in the picture area .My other colleagues were on the way and we sat in the bar area to the far left up against the wall. When they arrived he refused to serve them. And instead Micah the busser took care of us.
I do not find it acceptable at all to be referred to as “animals” and to be told to “get out” especially after I have been a customer for the past year. I also don’t find the lies he told to security to try and make a mockery when we stayed and still continued to give your establishment service with my colleagues from Dallas Texas that came in town to be refused.
None the less management responded saying that the name calling wasn’t verifiable and he was overwhelmed that’s why he kicked us out. (They could conveniently...
Read moreUnimpressive brunch. No wonder I've never seen this place on any recommended lists. I've had a few friends that have gone here, though, and it looked cute, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Oh my, was I sorely disappointed.
First of all, reservations are highly recommended for this place, as seating is very limited. So I made a reservation for my boyfriend and I for 1 PM, and arrived about five minutes early. Doesn't matter, I guess, because the couple that had been in the TWO elevators you have to take to get to the restaurant with us, and got to the hostess's table before us, were promptly seated, despite them not even having a reservation. Then when we got there, they were out of tables, having given them to people without reservations, and we had to wait about fifteen minutes.
Once seated, we found unpleasant pool tile flooring underneath us, as many of the tables are right next to a small pool on the roof of the hotel. Not desirable, but tolerable. Unfortunately, it only got more disappointing from there.
The carafe (not bottomless, which they don't offer) of mimosa that we ordered was overpriced and tasted unpleasant. I also don't know how much alcohol was even in it, because I felt no effect at all from it. On top of that, the overpriced food didn't taste good at all. The egg sandwich was LITERALLY just an egg sandwich with no meat other than some bacon, and just tasted WEIRD. The sausage patties and other items on the two eggs breakfast plate also just had a weird, off-putting taste to them. I think they were burnt. Very bad seasoning as well.
All in all, not my best brunch experience, by far. The rooftop views don't come close to making up for the hassle that was arriving, being seated, and eating lackluster, disappointing, and overpriced food and mimosas. Very mediocre. With so many brunch options to choose from in Los Angeles, I certainly won't be back...
