When I was twelve, some friends and I got it into our heads that the dull summer day we were experiencing would be a lot more interesting if we had some money to spend. I don't remember who came up with the idea but I think it might have been Jackson. This park would be the perfect spot for us to try our luck at our new careers as...fortune tellers. It was a weekday around 3 in the afternoon which made it the perfect time to exploit the rush hour traffic. I think there were four of us: James, Jackson, my younger brother Joe Joe and myself. Jackson had on boxing gloves. He stood on top of a bolder, shirtless, while continually punching himself in the face. Joe Joe stood around looking cute while James and I hustled the passers by. Here's how it worked: we'd go up to one of the cars and ask the driver and/or passengers what was his/her/their favorite color. Based off their answers, we'd tell them their future: Green- you'll live in the forest Blue - you'll live by the ocean Yellow - you'll live in the desert anything else - oh no you're going to die, like, any day now.
