Very frustrating. When you book online, apparently times are shown in your own timezone rather than the time zone of the tea room. This makes ZERO sense. I booked for 9am, logically assuming it was 9am eastern time. I did not know I was actually booking 12pm eastern time. This is highly counterintuitive. Yes I understand there is a 3 hour time difference between the east and west coast, but no other booking runs that way. Bookings are typically shown in local timezones. Had I wanted a 12pm appointment I would have booked for 12pm (in which case it would have actually been 3pm and I would have been in the same situation). This timezone information is not mentioned anywhere on the booking site, so there was no way for me to know in advance. It is, however, shown on the confirmation email, though admittedly I didn’t notice because I saw the time I booked for and assumed it was correct. I didn’t notice it said PDT. I also received a reminder text that simply said “9am” (this did not say PDT). We showed up for the time we booked and no one was there. I called and left a message and we left. We paid $30 for an Uber there and $30 for an Uber back, plus the $80 for the reading. You are required to pay in advance when you book. They refused to refund. I even asked for a 50% refund as this is technically partially their fault. They again refused. They did offer to rebook or give me a gift certificate for a phone reading. That’s not the experience I paid for. Their rigidity in this situation was, frankly, unprofessional and came across as a money grab. They need to fix their booking system. I doubt I’m the first person this has happened to....
Read moreIt was really bad. After seeing a 5 star review we decided to go here. I've been to dozens of tarot/tea leaf/ribbon/medium readings but this was really bad..I feel sick after spending this amount of money and unfortunately there aren't refunds. stay clear. perhaps the 5 star was based on previous readers. Our reader completely missed the mark not to mention she had her phone on the table and it went off 4 times in less then 30min and it vibrared on the table and she actually picked it up to check it everytime. this was very unprofessional and shocking I told her I can't even relate to what she's saying nor does it make any sense at all. one example is she said I'm too routine and I should travel and take a trip ..we were literally on a trip travelling from Canada and we travel often through the year as I have no schedule.. I told her about our lives to make it easier and she still couldn't follow and it didn't seem she was even listening. we asked her to help save the reading and give some insight and goals for our family and I even gave her all the info about our family and she still went on about promotions and work which aren't applicable to either of us. It seemed quite amateur and was quite expensive I wouldve hoped for her to switch to a more experienced reader if she was to preoccupied. I would advise to stay in downtown Salem...
Read moreStarting with the pros - the shop itself has great ambiance and there is easy parking nearby (not always the case in Mass towns).
To improve your experience, expect to ask very specific questions for the tea leaf reading. It's not an open ended exercise. Our reader mentioned that he was more comfortable as an astrologer. He tried to steer our reading that way but the two people I was with did not know their birth time. Even with birthdates and locations, the reading felt really limited. Maybe this would have been counteracted if we knew what to expect, but we weren't told that in advance.
Cons - reader kept his phone on the table the whole time. He called one of our party by the wrong name several times and almost seemed relieved when the session time ended. It felt like he was trying really hard to scrape together enough to fill the time even though there were three people there.
I would not return, but perhaps with a little bit more information heading in, your experience...
