Best Mexican food in the north shore. Tacos are gringas, but they have lots of other authetic dishes on their menu. They have a large drink selection, a modest appetizer section (in which I've tried the street corn, papusas, and the calamari, all pretty good), as well as a large entree menu.

Entrees range from Americanized dishes to authentic Mexican cuisine. Generally lands somewhere in the middle. Tacos as mentioned above, are best categorized as gringas (cheese, guac, sour cream, etc), the Al Pastor is very tasty and includes pineapple.

You generally don't need an appetizer as they serve house tortilla chips w/ Salsa and bean dip, which are really really good.

We've been regular take-away customers at El Jalisco but had never dined in until recently. The dining room is quite small & often filled, but we were able to call two days in advance for a table for 5 & they were able to accommodate.

Much of Mexican cuisine is similar up & down the nation - all of it vastly better that the Tex-Mex immitation most Americans grew up calling Mexican - but the 𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 differences are well worth appreciating. Here, the Jalisco region stands as tall as any of those better known and 𝐸𝑙 𝐽𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑜.𝑀𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝐺𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑙 seems to represent it well.

Excellent! Hubbs and I got food to-go. Chicken and steak fajitas were great! The meat was tender and very flavorful. The peppers and onions were wonderfully grilled. Beans, rice, sour cream and guac. Four grilled, warm tortillas. Yum! Cheese quesadilla was nicely grilled with sour cream and guacamole on the side. The Mexican Street Corn was super tasty, but I would have preferred the corn on the cob a bit more al dente. Finished off dinner with their Tres Leches cake. It was good.
