I recently had a highly disappointing experience with N E Computer Techs while getting my AIO replaced. Overall, the service was subpar and far from what I expected.
Firstly, the technician charged me an exorbitant $475 to install a $150 AIO. This charge was far beyond reasonable, especially since no detailed invoice was provided to justify the cost breakdown. When I dropped off my system, the initial cost was quoted at $250. However, the technician called me afterwards saying it’d be closer to $500. I agreed to this inflated quote because I wanted the system fixed, the technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable, and he said he would also fix up my cable management. However, there was no paperwork for me to fill out at our initial meeting, which seemed unprofessional and left me feeling uneasy about the transparency of the service.
Moreover, the technician claimed to fix my cable management but instead added splitters that caused multiple issues. One of the most concerning problems was connecting four side 120mm RGB fans to a single motherboard fan header using splitters. This setup led to error messages appearing right before Windows shut down my system.
Additionally, the technician used splitters on my USB ports, leading to connectivity problems with my devices. My AIO screen, which was supposed to be an upgrade, did not work after the installation. These issues not only caused inconvenience but also made it clear that the technician did not properly manage or test the setup.
If I hadn't identified and fixed the issues created by the technician, I could have faced more serious consequences, such as permanent damage to my motherboard or other components. The improper use of splitters and mismanagement of power distribution posed significant risks to the stability and longevity of my system.
After retrieving my system, I noticed a small scratch and bends in my motherboard’s radiator fins near the AIO. This damage indicates that the technician was careless while handling and installing the components, further compromising the quality of service and potentially affecting the cooling efficiency of my system.
I also noticed that one of my RGB fans wasn't lighting up properly, a problem that did not exist before the service and is still unresolved. This oversight further illustrates the lack of attention to detail and care in handling my components.
Overall, the service was unprofessional and overpriced, with inadequate attention to detail and transparency. I expected better quality and professionalism from a computer repair service, and unfortunately, N E Computer Techs did not deliver. I would not recommend their services based on...
Read moreI wish I called sooner! NE computer techs made the process so easy! My son's gaming computer was having issues and slowing down. They responded promptly to my call and were able to come to my home same day. Kyle got a summary of the issues from my son and quickly worked his magic and got his computer working faster. I would have spent hours trying to research what to do, probably not have solve the problem, and more likely than not caused a few more. they also recommended a more compatible antivirus software for gamers. Kim and Kyle could not be more pleasant to work with. We will definitely work with them in the future. I...
Read moreGreat service, reasonable prices, kindness coming from a small business… what’s not to love about that. I came to Kyle for just a basic laptop. Before that I found the shop and checked it out and they had tons of computer goods from top to bottom. Originally I saw a Dell XPS 2015 that Kyle priced at $250, not bad eh? That computer only held 4GB of ram and 128GB of storage, the ram couldn’t be increased. So Kyle gave me a newer Dell latitude for the same price, double the specs! I was pleased to work with a small business that values customers over the money and Kyle…he rose above all of the computer places, nobody...
