Dragon Egg Games — Local services in Billings

A couple months ago I decided I was going to give the D&D nerd stuff a go. I google searched "nerd stores in Billings Montana." I bounced from store to store, starting in the heights going west, and was not impressed. All of the stores offered to sell me the nerd paraphernalia but did not offer to take this middle-aged man and his daughter under their wing and introduce them to the world of D&D. Just about giving up, I walked into the last store on the list, Dragon Egg Games.

From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed. I browsed around the store and was completely lost on what all the cards, figurines, books, paints, maps, and tables were for. I went to the desk and the young man asked if he could help me. "I just feel out of my depth here, this store is too nerd for me." We laughed and he asked for more specifics. I told him I was interested in learn D&D but did not know where to begin. Between him and his father they set me and my daughter up with an experienced player who was willing to take new players under his wing and help us learn the game.

My 21 year old daughter, her two friends, and I meet every Friday night. We have learned the basics of the game and enjoy the warm atmosphere of gaming at their tables. So glad I found this place!

Made a trip to Dragon Egg Games during my first ever visit to Billings, MT. from out of state. And safe to say I was not disappointed. In my friends and I’s desperate search for Pokemon cards, we found this grail of a store. Upon entering we were greeted by Brian, who was far and away one of the nicest and most knowledgeable people at any card shop I’ve ever been to. To make it even better, the amount of product in stock, both current and retired product was astounding to see! Brian attended to all our needs, explained the pricing structure of the store and showed us a bunch of items tailored to our requests! I opted to buy a Crown Zenith tin at the recommendation of Brian and it was definitely worth my time, got on my personal chase cards while being able to gift the Zapdos promo card to Brian for all his help so he could add it to his PC. While I may not know when I’ll be next out to Billings, you can bet I will be back to Dragon Egg Games when I’m out there! 10/10 customer service, done both with expertise and a smile! Dragon Egg Games is a new game store in town (opened early October, I think). They've got every board/tabletop game known to man, and from my visit, it looks like they've got a great and active group of players hanging out there.

My kid is starting to get interested in Pokemon cards and I don't know much about that world. I asked if they could give us a quick explanation of the various card sets/generations, and the owner very enthusiastically launched into a great explanation of everything for a few minutes. It was awesome! My plan was to come back and buy some starter stuff/decks for my son's birthday, so we thanked him for his time and were about to leave when he stopped us and insisted on giving my son a free set of AWESOME (like, rare level) cards and protectors.

My son spent the rest of the day showing those cards to his friends and took them to school to do the same. I'm going to be heading back to buy some stuff for his birthday soon.
