Old Chicago: The Joyful Pizza Spot for Family Gatherings

This was our first time to an Old Chicago - a fact my wife mentioned to the hostess. About halfway through the meal the manager came out, welcomed us, and have us a gift card! She was very nice, and offered to remake our pizza when we figured out it came on the wrong crust. We ordered the light and fluffy 'ale crust', but ended up with their version of a Pan. It was basically an upgraded pizza hut (at about 2x the price). So I recommend the ale crust or the super deep dish for a different experience. Definitely go during Happy Hour to get the most for your money! Pizza was really good, with fresh toppings and a proper amount of cheese (*cough cough, Pizza hut is skimpy, *cough) - although i hope to actually try the ale crust next time. Boneless buffalo wings were good, but not quite fantastic. But i guess there's only so much you can do with boneless wings. They had a lot that looked good on the menu, and had a great beer selection; perfectly categorized by style and labeled with the bitterness/hop rating. Over all it was good food with a nice atmosphere - but if you're not dining with kids, definitely go to the pub side. The booth side is family seating, so plenty of kids around. Luckily they were pretty well behaved that night. Despite the mix up on crust, I still recommend it! Old Chicago is way better than Pizzaria Uno ;)

UPDATE: I have to leave a compliment here... The last 5 deliveries that I picked up... Were handled Perfectly! Keep up that Excellence! I'm bumping you back up to 5⭐. Food is Awesome! But the way they handle their delivery orders is simply horrible. The people there need to understand that these orders are customers too. In fact, they are prepaid customers. Their orders should be placed as soon as they come in, just like their customers that dine in. Each order has an approximate time as to when these orders should be ready for pickup. 50 minute wait time is just not acceptable. There are several restaurants that have this procedure down to a perfection. They are very busy as well.. . But they seem to have our orders ready or within 7 to 10 minutes from the approximate time. I absolutely love this place because their food is so good. Please just try to find a new way of handling your deliveries. It would be so much appreciated. Thank you.

I visited at a little after 10pm on a Monday evening. There was no door greeter or anyone to seat us. We walked in and there were several tables available to sit at but we wanted a booth. There were several booths that were dirty, so we had to find a server and asked if someone could clean the booth so we can sit there and she said, I'll try to get to it in a few minutes. I waited about 5 minutes standing at the booth and the server wiped the table and seat down leaving everything wet. After another 5 minutes of waiting, she came back with napkins and silverware. I had to specifically ask her to dry the table and seat so we could sit down. She placed a pile of napkins on the table and wiped the seat down then left quite quickly. We had to dry the table ourselves as it was still sopping wet. We had a different server that took our order and she was decent. She took our drink order and got it wrong. Not a big deal but we were very clear in what was ordered. Just ordered a water and soda water with lemon and no ice. We received mostly ice in both. She corrected without any issue.

The we ordered deep pan pizza. It was OK, nothing to write home about. It wasn't bad, but not what we were expecting. This was our first time ever visiting this place.

The music played was good. Bathrooms were OK, not bad but not kept up either.

Also, we called 4 times by phone 30 minutes prior to arriving and no one answered the phone. After ringing numerous times, some automated device picked up the call and said goodby, then hung up each time. Poor service if you ask me if you want business. What if we were ordering a takeout order?

Bottom line, food wasn't bad, but there is a lot better out there for ones hard earned money. Only went there because it was late and they were open till midnight. We would never go back again unless it was the only place available and we were...

Ordered a pick up for last night, and when we pulled up to the sign and called the gal on the phone asked "are you paying cash or card?" We let her know we were paying with card and she said "yeah your gonna have to come inside for that. We're extremely busy and that would take me 4 trips." My wife said "okay I'll be right in" and the girl just randomly asks "why curbside do you have a baby or something in the car?"

Not a big deal going inside isn't the end of the world we just did curbside because it was an option. however the question about the baby was rude. Anyway my wife goes in to get the food and there is no one waiting, restraunt was decently busy but three girls standing around up front and two of them on their phones... Must not but that incredibly busy you couldn't bring our food out and take a payment if you can have people on their phones.

Now we drive our 35 minute trip home and realize we are missing a drink from the kids meal and missing the sweet potato fries we had to pay extra for.. essentially my wife paid $14 for only a chicken sandwich.

My wife called in to just get refunded for the drink and fries since we couldn't justify $14 for only the sandwich. The employee let us know she would grab a manager to help us since she couldn't..the manager told her to tell my wife she is too busy to call her and would call back in about 20 minutes.. needless to say we never heard from the manager.

We hadn't eaten here in about 2 years from previous bad experiences until last night, but unfortunately it will now be our last. Only reason I left 2 stars is because my kid actually at his broccoli which never happens so they must have done...

First time ever ordering (or stepping foot inside) here. Ordered online, got a craft-your-own pizza w/thick crust, a specialty pizza w/ale crust, and a 2 medium thick crust 2-topping deal. Online ordering was easy, and when we got there the staff was quick to greet us and very friendly.

When we got home, we realized we were completely missing a pizza (likely due to the bizarre way it lists the order as 3 items, one item being a 2 medium 2 topping deal which is really 2 pizzas), called to say this and was told that they accidentally switched my pizzas and gave me a wrong one. No, actually, I had 3 others that had the correct toppings, I was just shorted one. I pointed that out and they said it was there waiting, but it's actually not the quickest drive and we had JUST gotten home.

I wanted to try the ale crust so ordered one of the pizzas as ale crust (the other 3 pizzas were thick crust). We were only given thick crust. The thick crust was okay, but star rating reflects too many overall issues with the order. As far as taste goes, the toppings were good but the pizza was all salty. Not sure what was making it so salty, but since all 3 that we got (initially) were salty, I'm assuming it's either the actual crust or the sauce. I'll probably be back to try something in person, as the restaurant did look nice, but it likely won't be the pizza.

(The person the missing/4th pizza was ordered for left to get it, and said it's the best pizza they've had since they moved here. It was an individual pizza, so nobody else got to taste that one; also thick crust. Also said the staff was very friendly and very apologetic...
