I was a very loyal home depot customer until last week. My store is literally a stones throw away, so I always buy my supplies at Home Depot. Last Tuesday night, I went there looking for aluminum rivets for a project I'm building for a customer. It was about 7pm and the store was not busy at all. My daughter and I walked around for about 35 minutes and asked for assistance from 9 different associates. We were ignored by all of the associates we approached. In two instances, associates were joking around and talking. When we came over and said, "Excuse me," they promptly walked away. I felt really embarrassed, like I was a total scumbag not worth talking to. My 11 year old daughter and I were joking about how we are only invisible in Home Depot. I even asked the gal at empty self check out, and she ignored me to chat with another associate. The way we were ignored, its no wonder I see videos of people taking whatever they want with no one stopping them at Home Depot. I run a customer service based business, and if any of my people ignored our customers like that, I would promptly fire them. When I finally gave up and went to the parking lot to call the store and see if they had rivets, the associate I called said," I don't know what aluminum ribbets are." I went to lowes, and the first associate we saw at the door said hi and asked if we needed help finding something. I told her we needed aluminum rivets, and she took us right to them in asile 6. We were in and out in five minutes. My company will no longer be using Home Depot products anymore because of how we were flat out ignored by the associates. That's a bummer because I really like Home Depot and the products they offer and have been a very loyal customer for 10 years now. I've used Home Depot products in so much construction work and in building our store. Even though it's a bit more inconvenient to get to lowes or Ace Hardware, I know that I won't have my time wasted and be embarrassed by being ignored...
Read more4/5/18 Called Billings, MT Home Depot Appliances. Told them I am shopping for Full Appliance Pkg. and I just bought same from them for my other house 2 years ago. Repeat Customer, Hhm! I e-mail entire list of Appliances for Whirlpool Appliance Pkg. with model numbers, request price. tell her I am phone shopping, not coming in to stand around for 2 hours. She tells me she will get back to me with prices. Deborah, no followup. Visit with her 4/7/18. She is only staff working Appliances on a Saturday, Hhm! She is busy with customer, and ask I wait 10 minutes. Wait 20 minutes, speak to Manager Didra, explain problem, fact Deborah is only one working, and another employee is just standing around while Deborah does all the work. Didra says she can help turns me over to Deborah whom is finally free. I give her my list with 2 revisions, and my cell number. Tell her I am going to pick up my wife and we are going to other competitors shopping. She says she will get back to me, and Home Depot will beat competitors price. I visited Freds Appliances, and Best Buy. Approximately 2 hours later I decided Best Buy offered not only best price, but excellent service. They quoted me a very good price on package and 10 times better service. I then called Deborah direct and gave price to Deborah to try to get Home Depot to honor their store policy of beating competitors prices. I buy many, many, items this Home Depot Store. Billings Montana Home Depot is failing when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very frustrating experience. i recommended buyers shop Best Buy, Dallas Burwick, or Fred's Appliance, Brandon Kaufman if you want a pleasant shopping experience, and best price. 4/8/18 Still no return call from Home Depot to beat competitors stores that you can see from entrance of Home Depot,...
Read moreThis Home Depot single handedly converted me to Lowe's. Visit 1: Walk up with the intent to purchase a washer and dryer, get ignored by salesmen. He sees me, just keeps talking to his friend instead of helping me. I have to physically say excuse me can I get some help? Got aggressively hit on during the duration of the transaction. Was told the "delivery window" is actually all day on a Monday. I'm not sure who can afford to take a day off of work for a washer/dryer delivery but, ok. I was also told I would receive a phone call 30 minutes prior to my delivery so I could come home from work. Nope, got a call hey we're outside, had to rush home from work. I also bought 2 plugs because I wasn't sure what kind I had, and that second plug mysteriously disappeared during installation. Visit 2: Ask for paint to be mixed up, come back an hour later, oh we forgot to mix it, wait another 25 minutes. Call for order status update: woman who answers the phone at the store cannot give me any information about where my order is. Nothing, even though I told her the order number 4 times. She apparently didn't think to literally turn around in her chair to look for it since it was actually behind her. Visit 3: Pick up online order. Woman takes about 30 minutes to find it because she has no idea what she's doing, and fails to ask anybody for help. Visit 3 part 2: Ask for paint to be mixed while we wait for lady 1 to find our order, go to pick it up, OOPS we forgot it again, wait another 25 minutes for them to mix it. The employees of this store are both creepy and incompetent, the store is messy and there is product everywhere. It's so hard to find help (which is a staffing issue.) I'm so used to my HD where I'm from and the people are great. I don't even want to give money to this one to encourage the cycle of poor...
