I had a marquise cut diamond solitaire engagement ring that my husband wanted to have reset for our 30th anniversary. He told me to decide how I wanted it set, but I really had no idea. We live in Tuscaloosa and went to a couple of jewelry stores here. They basically just told me to try to find a setting and they could have it made but were not really eager to help. In fact, one of things that my husband did want to “contribute” to the design was that he thought it would be nice to incorporate yellow diamonds. The salesperson at one of the stores here told us that yellow diamonds were expensive so we should consider yellow sapphires. I told her that I didn’t like yellow sapphires because they leaned more toward orange. I specifically asked if they could do a CAAD incorporating yellow diamonds, but when she sent it to me she stated that she told them yellow sapphires. She never asked our budget, so she was making an assumption we could not afford diamonds. We decided to go to some jewelers in Birmingham and decided we would go to three, with Levy’s being one of them. They were the last of the three we went to on a Saturday. The first two had the same type of “what do you want approach” and never really helped guide me through some design options. Then we got to Levy’s and met Jenn. She is fantastic!!!! Rather than just standing at a counter staring at us waiting for us to tell her what we wanted (like the other jewelry stores), she sat us down at her desk and went through various design options. We ended up deciding on a design I thought I wanted, and she proceeded to order yellow diamonds we could look at. By the time the yellow diamonds came in, I had decided on a different design. Jenn was not frustrated at all with my change of mind and again proceeded to discuss various options to ensure it would come out looking gorgeous. I picked up the ring two days ago, and it is stunning! It came out so much better than I could have ever dreamed, and it would not have been the case without Jenn helping us all along the way. If we ever need any more quality jewelry we will definitely go...
Read moreDear Levy's Fine Jewelry and future customers,
My family has been loyal customers for many years, consistently enjoying excellent experiences with your establishment. We've entrusted you with significant moments, such as resizing my wife's wedding ring, and we've appreciated your services.
Approximately six months ago, I had the pleasure of dealing with Quinton, who provided outstanding assistance in selling some of our rings. He even suggested that one particular ring might increase in value and advised me to keep it.
However, my recent visit was less pleasant. When I inquired about Quinton, Jared informed me that he was Quinton's boss. Jared indicated that the ring's value was significantly less than what Quinton had informed me of. While I understand that he might have been trying to help, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable when he asked about our residence, as it seemed like he was making assumptions, even though he was just suggesting other places to go.
My wife is a scientist, and I'm a small business owner, so we were taken aback by the implication. I must admit that this experience left me disheartened, and I wouldn't readily recommend your store due to this unfortunate interaction with Jared. It's disappointing to feel that Levy's is no longer the welcoming, trustworthy jewelry business we once...
Read moreMy wife and I went into Levys jewelry store today and I felt as if we were treated like we did not belong. The man never one time even looked at the jewelry with his loop or anything. when he asked what we wanted and we told him and explained we had them looked at. he rudely handed it back across the desk and laid them down and said we could take them somewhere else because he was not at all looking to give that. Which is fine but his job was to make an offer first of all & second customer service goes a long way! We may have considered taking less but definitely not after being treated like that. He also made a rude comment saying where we took it the place must not be in the jewelry business. But he most certainly is his in the business. He has a jewelry store is in Jasper at the Jasper Mall it’s called the Ring Doctor he told us around About the year it was made, about what the jewelry was worth when it was new , how much it probably sold for then, how much we should ask for when we sell it , and also the least amount to take for it. Plus to top it off HE DONE THIS FOR A TOTAL OF........ NOTHING!! Props to the Ring Doctor just for his all around customer service. I do NOT...
